Maybe someone should have stopped him. Maybe he should have stopped himself. Maybe the divines don't really care what happens to the multiverse. But it happens, this silly man who has been called Master of the Mystic Arts, Wonder-Worker, Warlock, Miracle Maker! - construes a failed attempt of many to fall in line when Strange recognizes the problem too little too late as a single ley line; a tiny, slippery thing, just a millimeter to the right.
The temples shake, the mountains quake, and Strange just barely manages to release a hand free from the confines of the cast to conjure a glowing, orange dome around them just as the roof collapses above them. He fights the bitter taste of the crumbling walls of what had been his home for the past months. The only familiarity in a foreign world. The spell expands in full all around them in a sudden blast of effervescence stripped from the very cosmos itself — nebulas, galaxies, planets and their moons and their suns warbling, constricting and expanding all at once as they slowly leak through the large portal in front of Vulcan and Sorcerer, becoming thin threads of writhing colors around them. Strange looks to Spock, sweat brimming across his brow from containing the spell, knowing if he were to release it, they'll both be sucked into it. His hands are trembling, his resolve of the usual state of arrogant calm cripples slightly as he blinks apologetically at the one companionship he's managed to garner while in this universe. He fucked up. Turning back to the continuous flow of other dimensions bleeding into his one, he calls upon another layer of runes, overlays that to the ones he had been orchestrating earlier that are still glimmering a bright gold around them and snaps his arms out with a crying shout. With a sonic boom! — they are thrown away from the portal... .... and the world quiets. However, fabrics of reality are ripped across the multiverse; evermoving fissures glowing amidst the energies of the cosmos, melding dimensions. The paradox begins.
