Idk. Maybe someone with more knowledge can answer this. I assume that every queen and king has the title as ruler of Westeros, therefore any pretender to the throne should have it, but since her titles are more "informal" since she's not actually a queen, that's why she doesn't have it? She uses the ones she likes the most, or are more recognizable? Idk.

Totally agree with your suggestion. I think I've said before that what I like about Dany's chapters are the people who surround her and their stories. She, in contrast, seems a cardboard cutout (after AGOT), compared to the stories and lives that revolve around her. So, yes, I would have loved to see her story through someone else's eyes. Would have loved a dothraki, or a handmaid POV. And even more so, Jorah would have been a good perspective, not only for her story, but also for his own. Even after they part ways, it would have been interesting to read about his struggles, his need for redemption, and his journey back into her graces (if that actually happens anyway). He's definitely an interesting character and has quite a few flaws and has done shitty things, intriguing enough to present that grayness that would have made the chapters compelling and interesting.

However I think there are reasons to Dany's POV, and why GRRM decided to present it instead of using someone else to tell her story. But I do side eye the lack of representation in terms of the different cultures that could have been explored through other POVs in her storyline. But again, Jorah would have been a great addition to the story, even if that presented itself as an overlay with her POV.

I figured Barristan was lying. I think the conversation was sneaky in some ways. Jorah asked if he was part of the Council, fearing he would know more than what he's saying, and Barristan lied, because he needed to win his trust, and then reveals what he knows when it is convenient. Which would be a good way to show why Dany is pissed at both of them. One for treason, the other one for not telling what he knew before that.

A Jorah one would have been good too. But not for the he loves her or he's a creep thing, in my case. But for the betrayal part. I definitely want to see how he changed his mind, why did he forsake his own freedom in a way, his home, his family, and life in general. When did she became more important to him than what he always wanted and his name. Did he think about the consequences of his actions? Did he actually think she was gonna get that far? Didn't he think he was gonna be forever an enemy to Westeros? Was it just the love for her, or did some honour come into consideration? Idk, there are a lot of questions unanswered.

I appreciate your blog and it's frank honesty. Nowhere else can you find that w/ regards to Emilia, because you will be swamped with "haterz gunna hate!!!". I don't hate her, I just think she is a pretty bad actress. I wonder, does her lack of talent make it harder for someone like Iain Glen in their scenes together? Surely if we fans notice, the rest of the cast does too. Thank you

About your question. I personally think that most actors who have worked with her, are very much aware of her limitations as an actress, but is not like they can say anything. 

In my opinion is best if they concentrate in their own acting, their own lines, their own work, and separate themselves from what others are doing. Cause frankly is not their job to teach other actors to act. So they should just concentrate on themselves, and let the director deal with actors who haven't delivered a good performance. I think Iain Glen does that. If you look at some behind the scenes footage from season 1, or some photos that surfaced of the season 3 filming, you can see him on the back of the action. People is walking around, talking, or working (crew), and he's just in the back, rehearsing his lines, reading something or maybe practicing his dothraki. I think is save to say that he has his mind in his performance, and not in what is surrounding him. 

Iain Glen is probably one of those underrated actors, who deserve way more recognition, or actually some recognition, for his work. He's done good movies, good tv shows, and most of the time he's gotten really good performances. Just take a look at his imdb and you'll see what I'm talking about. 

Going back to the topic. I'm not particularly bother by Emilia's acting when she's in a scene with Iain Glen, for example. Just because, he is kinda saving the scene. Is like I'm so concentrated on him, that she almost disappears. Less lines for her, and more lines and acting from him, and he saves the scene. (with some exceptions of course. There's one scene when Dany and Jorah are fighting over going directly to war to Westeros, and he's advising her not to do that, he wants her to wait. Emilia's acting was bad, and her voice -almost on the brink of crying- was so annoying and distracting, that not even Glen's good performance was able to save that, or distract the audience away from hers). 

Again I think they notice, they are just too polite to be bother by it.

I think that Rose Leslie was impressive though her character didn't do much besides playing with (the boring) Jon Snow. On the other hand Emilia Clarke had some interesting scenes (her argument with Jorah, Irri's death etc) but she didn't express anything... She should be ashamed. What do you think about Ygritt and the argument between Jorah and Dany?

Hi anon. 

I liked Leslie's performance, though her accent is a bit distracting, and she didn't change it much from her DA accent. I think her character was great on the show. I mean, her trolling was the best thing ever to happen to Jon's scenes. It made me laugh at the expense of Jon, and that's an amazing thing. lol

(SPOILERS I GUESS)

I don't think Ygritte is going to be more than that on the show though. She's there to cheer up the bastard, she trolls him constantly and shows him how things are not like he thought they were.

On the books, I do find her interesting, and her perspective on life and women's choices on the other side of the wall is great to put in perspective the way of things around Westeros. I think I like that clash of cultures she and Jon experienced. Though I think is more about Jon learning and accepting them, than her understanding why everything is so different on the other side of the wall. 

While many find her annoying, I loved her on the books, and on the show I liked her too. Maybe a little bit less talk about balls is needed, but other than that, I like her. And I like Leslie on the role. Do miss the big crazy curly red hair, but I can live without it.

Dany and Jorah's argument:

There were two. One before the dragons got stolen, and after Xaro's propositions to Dany. I liked that argument between them, it was according to what the book said, except that Dany knew for sure that Xaro was not interested in women, so she was just considering it for the convenience of it(army, ships). And I really like that Jorah was a good adviser he told her the truth and tried to help her as much as he could. Besides he was right in most of the things he advises her to do (or not do).

The other one is after the disappearance of the dragons, which is a bit different. All the sudden Dany took Jorah's words as the truth. He told her and tried to tell her that no one wanted her in Westeros, no one wanted a Targ on the throne, and she dismissed this many times. And all the sudden she understands it, and Jorah is the one saying your people is waiting for you, and she's saying no they are not, nobody wants me there. I like that Dany finally acknowledges that, but on the other hand that's pretty much destroying the ideas Dany has and why she thinks she deserves and needs to go to Westeros. Like I said in a previous ask, if she believes nobody wants her there, then why take the trouble to get ships and an army to go to Westeros(?). Seems contradictory to me, and they probably forgot that Jorah was the one that tried to make her understand that Westeros doesn't want a Targ, he made it clear that if she wants the throne, she will have to start a war, that's why she needs an army and ships.

I liked and didn't like that change at the same time. 

And Emilia's performance on those scenes were bad, her voice in the first one breaks like she's about to cry or something.
