I know I need to revamp Xiahou Yuan’s blog (and by extension Xu Shu’s) but I also remembered I have to play his story in DW9 and I just

I’ve seen Miaocai die...so many times and his ending in general hurts me considering they end stories before a character dies...also in DW9 Sun Ce doesn’t die from partying too hard in the club and getting his drink spiked by that loser Gan Ji, just know he’s like on a break somewhere and traveling through the open world

EDIT: also wow nvm I like Xiahou Yuan’s basic layout I’m gonna keep it bc sometimes I don’t need the stress of a complex layout

This is your resident Bofu-mun driving by to say I hope everybody’s doing well, and to please be vigilant this flu season! I am sidelined from work for an entire week because I got the flu....at work...where no amount of hand washing and glove/mask wearing/flu vaccination protected me, I got worse at work that I had to check myself into the Emergency room (lol plot twist I work in a hospital [pained laughter]) with a fever of 101.8 You’d think I’d have more of a muse for Bofubutt but wow I have been bedridden for the past couple days and only now have some energy to do stuff! I’m working on the reply I see (I see my replies I didn’t forget I promise the flu is just..not nice) Anyways I also was listening to music and ‘Tried to be Nice’ made me think of @savageorchids and that’s all okay bye

big mood: waiting for DW9 so I can see how they handle things because some part of me is waiting for:

 the inevitable disappointment @ Sun Ce’s reign in his era

-the not surpising way they’ll pretend my notp got together before they did (honestly let it be what it is: a footnote in history, and only worth mentioning when you’re talking about marriage patterns in Wu + Sun Ce choosing Sun Quan as his heir more or less)

Because I do miss my Sun Ce muse being fully active (he’s a grumpy butt bc I’m not here and I’m busy working and sleeping)--I do miss my hack and slash shenanigans, but I also miss the joy of a new Empires expansion because I’m (more) in love with everyone’s OCs in the hack and slash fun. No Seriously, I see all you guys on my dashboard; Ruolan (trash king is also a lazy cat in a box somewhere who wants to come out but eh), Youxi, Kong Tut, Yueliang, Feng Xiu, Ling Sheg, Lü Feng, Lü Shèng, and Jia Nanfeng (who I haven’t seen in a minute but remember)--and you’re all amazing along all of the canon characters that everybody has picked up like Pine coming in with the ridiculously fabulous Yu Jin, Alpha and the wonderful layered Liu Shan, Misa and the thoughtful and divine Diaochan...I see and love all of you, even those it looked like I didn’t mention because if I did I’d already be taking up a huge amount of space oh jeez oh man!

I’m missing so many more people like the Xiahou Dun to my Xiahou Yuan, Mishii (who is stuntin fabulously on @nathdar); Jess who is also basically the Cao Cao to my Xiahou Yuan and also like 3 of Taohua’s dads ok, and Efrik, the Sun Quan to my Sun Ce and just...AAHHHHH I LOVE YOU ALL OKAY

LET ME REMIND Y’ALL WHY XIN XIANYING IS A GOOD FEMALE ADD FOR DW.

I rag on 90% of the female roster because they're trope-y and grossly overrated/overhyped/and have almost no historical relevance (outside of ‘wife of ____’ or ‘daughter of _____’ but the ladies in general (no matter if they're popular in folklore/opera/fiction or historical reality) literally will always have no more merits than most of the male cast. Lianshi wasn't noted for fighting, she was remembered bc she was Sun Quan's favorite and was a posthumous empress. The Qiaos were only noteable for who they married (operas and folklore hype them up stupidly which is why people think they have a modicum of clout). Bao Sanniang? Entirely fictional. Cai Wenji? So valuable and smart Cao Cao paid a ransom for her (I’m glossing over Cai Wenji but really she’s a good, a gem, pls love her more). Zhenji? She married Cao Pi and was surrounded by controversy when she died. People ignore that all she literally did was get hitched to Cao Pi and lose favor to a smarter woman in Guo Nuwang (I LOVE HER WHY DON’T WE TALK MORE ABOUT HER). People also still think Zhenji’s first husband is the real father of Cao Rui even tho that’s been disproven for a while soooo.... Annnyways, If you put any of these ladies in comparison to ANY male on the roster, the ladies are always going to lose out because their merits are next to nothing, so in a way it's not even fair for them if you're looking at things from a battlefield/fighting perspective. When ladies ARE added, I of course feel they should have a bit more historical relevance and Xin Xianying is one of those with some merit. If her father (Xin Pi) and nephew (Yang Hu), both famous generals with many more merits than her, are seeking her for advice/coucil then...ya girl has merit. One of the ways ladies exercised their power anyway was control through the home and offering advice/influence.  Also, Xin Xianying’s the reason Sima Yi didn’t fuck up at Wuzhang Plains and give in to Zhuge Liang’s taunting. She’s also the reason Yang Hu was smart enough to distance himself from Zhong Hui. Both of these are noteable af and are constantly mentioned. I’m sure Zhuge Liang didn’t actually send Sima Yi ladies clothes but we’re working from ROTK from more than anything else.

Conflict: Xin Xianying would have it if Cao Pi ever found out that she remarked to Xin Pi that Cao Pi being elated at shouldering a heavy responsibility after Cao Cao died means a rocky future for Cao Pi. Especially knowing that she was right.

The only issue with her should be this: why they got her in Wei and not in Decaf Wei er, Jin? It’s common knowledge I think Jin is flaming garbage in general save for like two characters but honestly if they don’t get any new adds this game...wow KT did them dirty.
