FFXIV Writing Challenge - Entry #10: Slap
Where: Western La Noscea, 1553
It was meant to be the satisfying slap of stone bounced expertly across the rolling sea. The breath-defying spike of what shouldn’t normally fly, the flash of pebble arching like the nascent dreams of silvery fish who for the briefest of instances broke into the majesty of open sky, the beaming glory of the golden rays of sun unfiltered at last by the malms of darkened depths through which they swam below- but as rock hit water, with a resounding plunk it cast up a shimmering spray and disappeared into fulms of blueish-green.
Plunk.
It sank again, the second same as the first. And then the third. The fourth. The fifth.
Ojene wasn’t sure what she was doing wrong. She’d watched La Nosceans do this a thousand times. Like them, her shoulders hug loose. Her stance easy, bare feet planted firmly into the damp sand that clung between her toes. And the cast of her arm came angled and quick, the flick of her wrist so sure and precise. This could work, she was sure, if only she figured out her action’s fatal flaw.
Plunk.
She knew she didn’t fit in, and this was just one more sign. Sure, ask her to climb a tree and she’d do it in a breath, lost into the leafy crowns before one could blink an eye. Tell her to track down that little spot of shelter in a mess of roiling green and she’d find camp in an instant, buried in a spot where no beasts were like to see. She knew the forest. She lived the forest. But this- the fertile span of rolling hills- was nothing like where she’d been before.
Plunk.
Maybe one day she’d learn? If she could take root long enough to stay. But she was like a tall foreign weed, struggling to find its purchase in habitats unnatural, unknown.
Plunk.
After an unsuccessful half-bell of trying, she at last slunk back to the firm soil shores.

Ahhh, I’ll miss you! I hope everything goes okay and the weather is less severe soon!
Actually, the worst of it isn't supposed to start until tonight around 7. >.< And the warning stretches all the way til 1 AM Wednesday morning. Add in that Dad heard we're supposed to get MORE snow on Wednesday, and I may be home for a while, with or without net.

[You are not a dumb, just a forgetful nekomun. :P I forget my medicine all the time, and I’ve been taking itrecently, sooooo yea I understand the feeling]
Nah, I am a super dumb. I herped and I derped and I blew the house down. XP
I really need to get some of those little clear boxes with days on them so I can hopefully remember to take them when I get up in the morning or just before I go to bed or something. Put them in the bathroom with my toothbrush. That'd probably work. HMMM.
But to conclude, I am a super dumb mun and normal service will resume shortly. Likely starting with my response to you~
