Sambar Deer

Criteria from requester: Something earthy

Sambar Deer are an impressive, dark brown species of deer native to southeastern Asia. While they stay close to water sources, their habitats are varied and prefer cover.

These hardy deer are a perfect fit for Chinese puerh tea. Antique Pu-erh from American Tea Room comes from Yunnan, China, also home of the Sambar Deer. While the price tag may be a little high, this tea can be steeped multiple times with little effect on the flavor.

Black Hole

Criteria from requester: No chamomile

While I may not be well-versed in spacial science, I do know that black holes are the darkest dark that could be achieved. It was a toss-up between a black base (which is bold but not necessarily dark) or a puerh tea (brews dark but with an earthy taste.)

Why not both?

The Tea Spot offers Bolder Breakfast, a blend of aged puerh and black tea for a one-two flavor punch. With the boldness of black tea and the dark tones of puerh, it's perfect for the darkest celestial body. The trade-off is that this blend is highly caffeinated and best enjoyed when not trying to sleep.
