My guy he gives me so many emotions That’s the first time I’ve thought about that honestly; there are a lot of gifsets of the bank vault scene but this is the first one I’ve seen that shows that contrast between his anger (punching/backhanding the scientist) and his powerlessness (sitting there while he has a gun pulled on him) so plainly. And he’s still a very deliberate character, even with (especially with really) everything that’s happened to him, so I can’t think that that choice was unintentional. It kinda parallels when he first wakes up to HYDRA working on his arm in the first place! Someone’s probably come up with this already, but the sudden awareness on some level about what’s happening to him and the way that his immediate response was to hit the scientist doing it to him is paralleled so well in this scene, I don’t know how I didn’t see that before; thank you anon! ✨
