START ME UP (PAST) : JL/YR
(` at eighteen years young, kim yerim has a hard time staying in one place, the strong sense of wanderlust shaking her until she moves-- she has to. the school is a safe haven for her, and she never takes it for granted, but the young woman pushes through the front door for the fourth time that week and finds herself in the heart of the city, where the sounds of busan buzzes and hums to prove it's vitality and life to her, constant sounds that fill the silent gaps created by the spaces between her thoughts. this city is her childhood, home, she loves it here. some way or another she finds herself on the nearby university's campus, where the sun filters through the tress and change the contours of her expression, shadows and light masking her. she's never been a university student nor will she ever be able to be one, not with her bank account at zero and her penniless lifestyle, but a book tucks under her arm and she thinks she looks the part nonetheless )
(` there's a boy, just one in particular out of the flooded college campus that catches her attention. she's seen him before, tall, charming, hard to miss-- it's only been a few glances here and there, but she's never been a very forgetful person. he has a nice smile )
(` people say subtety is key. yerim has never been good at subtlety )
hello. (` a smile curls her lips, immediately sitting in the empty spot next to him on one of the quad's many benches. don't be creepy yerim, for once in your life do not be creepy-- ) I was just admiring the curve of your lips-- your smile, it's lovely.
(` okay, or be completely creepy. she doesn't mean to come off this way-- her genuine words are meant to be taken that way, genuine. it doesn't always work out for her )
ah (` a sudden realization, emphasized by the way she blinks with slightly wider eyes ) sorry, where are my manners (` dips her head down into a small bow, only to reveal her smile still intact when her head lifts ) I'm kim yerim.
