Despite today being his only day off for the week, Chanyeol still managed to stop by every garden and flower bed in the midst of running a few errands. This was nothing out of the ordinary however, as he always managed to help a plant in need. This mission of his had led to being late a numerous amount of times, though the owners seemed to forgive him time and time again, only because he was their only worker as of late. An older co-worker of his had just recently retired, so the male was picking up more and more shifts, and was over-worked to say the least. Not that he minded, he was being paid to be around ‘friends’ after all.
With a dark green backpack slung over a shoulder, he walks past a park he frequents on lunch breaks and most days off, glancing around to make sure none of his projects had been disturbed. Recently, he had started to plant small beds of wildflowers around the park, to help keep it in it’s natural state. He slowly bends down, picking up little bits of paper and plastic scattered around, balling it up in his palm. As he rises, he glances around for the nearest trashcan, noticing one only a short walk away.
Trash in hand, he walks rather hurriedly towards the trashcan, needing to wrap things up. He probably would’ve been done with his daily rounds at the park if he hadn’t have looked down. There, in front of him laid a small bed of pansies, in horrible condition. It pained him to see any plant in this condition, let alone a small but fragile flower such as the pansy. Crouching down near the bed, he quickly withdraws a water bottle, sprinkling it to the best of his abilities. A part of his mutation leaves him to feel what the plant itself is feeling, a blessing and a curse as he says. As much as he loves feeling the happiness and warmth of a well-taken care of plant, that also comes with the cold, hopelessness of a plant in pain.
“It’s okay now..you guys will be just fine..” He says aloud, patting down the soil surrounding them to make sure they received enough water.
