Josuke’s little girl

Your daughters name Y/d/n

You checked the house number for the 4th time before, this definitely the higashikata household, you rang the door and waited nervously for someone to open up, “Josuke, see who’s at the door”, you recognised that voice anywhere it was tomoko, I never been so nervous about anything before, I hope he’s happy to me see, after a year of only talking to him on the phone, the door opened it to reveal, your beautiful boyfriend in his school uniform, he has a comb in his left hand, when he saw you he dropped his comb to the floor and pulled you in for a hug, you put one arm around his slim waist, you missed the warmth of his body against yours, he looked down to see a toddler holding your other hand

“Who is this?” You picked her up and placed her on your hip, “This is your daughter Y/d/n”, you say bouncing her on your hip because she was now burying her little face in your T-shirt, she’s shy around new people, “Come in I don’t want her getting cold” he closed the door after the two of you and lead you into the living room, you took a seat on the sofa, he sat down on the seat next to yours, “Can I hold her?” He asked eyeing the little one who was still hiding her face, you nodded your head and picked her up and gave her to her father

He was so gentle when picking her up, He looked at her little face and could immediately see himself, her eyes were closed shut, she was so excitedly see him before, “Y/d/n, open your eyes” you told her in a soft voice, she shook her head no, “Don’t you wanna see what daddy looks like?” You asked the small child, “Daddy?” She whispered very quietly, excited to finally meet him, she slowly opened her eyes to look him, but immediately shut them again, there was a little smile on her face, Josuke smiled at her “Don’t worry, Y/d/n were gonna have plenty of time to get to know each other”, he told his daughter in the softest voice

“Why didn’t you tell me you were pregnant?” He asked watching the toddler who was playing with his oversized heat pin on his jacket, “When I went to study abroad I didn’t know I was pregnant for a long time, but when I realised, I pankier because, I will sound kinda dumb now that I’m saying It out loud but, I thought I was protecting you, I knew your mum would kill you and I didn’t want you to drop out” It definitely didn’t sound all that smart when you said it out loud “You wanted to protect me? you must have gone through hell all by yourself” he sounded so sympathetic “Don’t worry, I had some family helping me”

“So what made you change your mind and finally tell me?” He concentrated on his daughter making sure she doesn’t fall from his lap “Well I knew I had to tell you eventually and my program ended and” you were caught guard when Tomoko poked her head around the door, “Who was it at the door?” Her hard gaze soften when she saw you, she smiled at you as a hello, you smiled back at her but her eyes went wide when she saw a toddler on her son’s lap, “Whose baby is that?” she asked with worry in her voice, “This is our daughter, Y/d/n”, She picked the toddler up from her son’s arms and examined her, “She's got your blue eyes and her hair is already touching her shoulders she's definitely yours” she placed Y/d/n in your arms, “Mom, can you unfreeze my account so I can pay for baby stuff?” josuke asked his mother, with his hands pressed together in a praying motion

“Look, I have to go work, I’ll unfreeze it on the way and you better pay for baby stuff and only baby stuff, but we will talk about the living arrangements when I get back, For the baby’s sake I’ll call the school and tell them that you won’t be attending for a while, She left the room, you here the door open, JOSUKE!, ARE YOU THERE? He walked into the room. Aren't you coming to school today?, he “Hey Y\n it feels like I haven’t seen you in a while, is this your little sister? She is so cute” he crouched down in front, “This is Y\d\n, my, our daughter” Josuke told his close friend, “Does that mean I’m an uncle?” he sounded so excited “I guess so” Josuke replied to back back, “My...name...is ...Okuyasu, I’m your daddy’s best friend in the wwwhhhhooolllee wiiiddddeeee world” he playfully shook her tiny hands, “But you can just call me, uncle yasu”

“Do need to get some baby stuff?, because There’s a huge box of baby things from when my uh Mr joestar, bought all that stuff for Shizuka, I’ll get it” josuke got up from his chair and walked towards the garage, remember josuke telling me that Shizuka is his adopted sister, you thought to yourself, Okuyasu sat down where josuke was sitting, “Y\n can I hold her?” Okuyasu asked “Of course,” you said, she has to start getting used to being around people, it's better to start early you put Y\d\n to her feet, Okuyasu held his arms out for her, she was hesitant at first but, she slowly walked towards, he picked her up, “I'm gonna be the best uncle ever, he said to her holding the toddler on his hip, Josuke came pushing a pram into the room with 2 cardboard boxes labelled baby stuff resting on it, There are every type of, pacifiers, diaper and baby bottles in these two boxes and here's a pram” You smiled at him, “This is perfect Josuke thank you” you got up from the chair and pulled your boyfriend into a hug, can he be any more perfect? You thought to yourself, you stood up on your tiptoes and kissed his chin, he got the hint and leaned down to kiss you on the lips

The phone rang, Josuke broke the kiss to go answer it, “Hello...Oh hi, Koichi….No me and Okuyasu aren't coming in today….It's because I’m spending time with my….daughter...I know it was a shock too but there's no doubt she's mine... okay I’ll see you after school” he put the phone down, “It was Koichi” he walked back to us in the front room, and sat into the other seat, What are we gonna do about a baby crib?

A couple of hours have passed, You heard a knock at the door, you went to open it revealing, your boyfriend, and your daughter who was peacefully sleeping in his arms, with his free hands he pushing the pram, which contained two huge bags strapped to where the baby would sit and a baby crib box resting on top of it,

You took your daughter, out of his hands, so he can concentrate on getting everything in, “So how as she?” You asked your boyfriend who was pushing the pram behind you, “She was no bother it didn’t take long for her to open up to me, we were best friends in no time” you smiled at that thought, “Did You make sure to feed her and change her diaper?” You asked raising your eyebrow at him, “Of course, like her father she can eat a lot” A huge smile spread on your face, you picked up one of the bags but your boyfriend stopped you, “Let’s go upstairs”

“Okay, Are you sure your gonna be able to manage that?” He picked up the boxed crib and held it above his head, “Of course I can” you picked up the two bags that were heavy but you to managed and followed behind him, “How did the job thing go?” He asked, “It was alright, I must have given out about 30 cv’s, I’m just hoping a get a call soon” you replied dropping the bags as soon as you take one step in

“How did you get the money to afford all of this?” you asked your boyfriend, who Had put the box down and open it, He didn’t even look at the instructions, but begun suddenly, all of the pieces began to move and fit together as it was magic, you watched in amazement, you knew that josuke has a stand that you’ve never seen, but it will still cool to watch things move around, he leaned his body over halfway and pressed his hands at the bottom of it, “You can put her in here now, it’s sturdy”, he moved out the way so you can put your daughter in, she was still peacefully asleep

You turned to look at your boyfriend “I’m curious to know what you bought” you told your boyfriend talking in a hushed tone to not wake your baby, you picked up one of the bags and started looking through it “I bought someee, jackets, trousers, jeans, shorts, shoes, and I restocked some of my favourite hair products he told you “And for our daughter?” You asked your boyfriend hoping he remembered to get some stuff for Y/d/n, “Don't worry Y/n, I should never forget about the little one, there should be some jackets, shoes, skirts, dresses and some baby grows in every colour” you laughed surprised he bought so much stuff for a one year old

It was now nighttime Koichi has now met her, tomoko came back from work and talked to us about our future plans now we have a toddler to look after, now everyone was washed and in bed clothes, You was thinking, You were planning on going home but josuke convinced you to stay, so here you are laying next to him with your head resting on his shoulder “I wish I would have been there when you were pregnant, I would have rubbed your feet back and stomach, you know i would have done all of that for you” you were now gently playing with fingers, “I know, I wasn’t thinking straight I’ve missed you” you turned around so now you was laying on top of him, He started to run circles into your naked thigh,”I’ve missed you too, I missed how soft your skin felt” you later like that until you eventually fell asleep

Your opened your eyes and looked around, for your daughter who was supposed to be in her cot, but she wasn’t there, you panicked and called for your boyfriend but he wasn’t beside you, you got up and ran down the stairs in just his T-shirt that you borrowed from him, you sighed in relief when You saw him sitting there with Y/d/n sitting on his cross legs under a blanket, ”Morning Y/n, hope you slept well” he greeted turning to look at you, Y/d/n turning around to look at too, they looked like twins“I was so scared, I thought she wondered out of her cot”, you walked over to the two of them and picked your daughter up from josuke's lap, “Don’t worry Y/n, she was crying and you was sleeping so I thought that I would sort her out, I picked her up and I noticed that her diaper needed changing, I was so tempted to wake you up when I saw the saw all that crap she produced, but I decided that you not to, it wasn’t that bad, and I feed her but when I went to put her down she didn’t want me to, so me and her have just been hanging out” she smiled at the sight of the two of them she’s already so comfortable with him and it hasn’t even been that long

You join the two of them sitting your daughter in between the both of you, Josuke wrapped the blanket around you but was gentle of the little one, you leaned into your boyfriend and put your head on his shoulder, this couldn’t have ended up any more perfect, you thought to yourself as you watched the colours on the screen

Um, if you’re not too busy can I please have a scenario or hcs of Hawks with a really empathetic s/o who becomes more and more worried about Hawks safety while infiltrating the league and feels upset whenever thinking about how stressed and worried he must feel too?

Hey wow, so this actually ended up being a whole-ass one shot. I was going to leave name spoilers for tomorrow, but close enough, so have fun!

“So what are plans for tonight?” You chirped over the phone whilst gathering your things for the ride home.

“Chicken and beer at the usual place?” You rolled your eyes, knowing that was how he’d answer you.

“We’ve been there four times this month, already. We can have that at home.”

“Ah, but Yasu-san’s is the best in the city!”

“If we’re going out to eat, let’s at least switch it up!”

“All right, all right. How about donburi?”

“I guess you’ll get your chicken one way or the other, huh?”

“Hey now, at least we’ll get our ow-” You heard him suddenly stop and what sounded like a swear under his breath. “Hey, babe, can I call you back? It’s, uh, work trying to get a hold of me… I’ll be back in a sec.” There was tension in his voice, perhaps an inkling of hesitation?

“O-ok.” And no sooner had the words left your mouth that you were hung up on. What was with him lately? He’d been dodgy and evasive for a while - canceling dates last minute, getting uncharacteristically possessive about his phone, and avoided talking about his day when he used to be open about it to an obnoxious degree. It had been going on for a while now and was so unlike him. 

Was… Was he cheating on you? No! There had to be other explanations…

You were snapped out of your daze by the ringtone going off in your hand. How long had you been just standing there? “Hey, sorry, babe. I know we were going to meet up and go to a place together, but I’ll have to meet you there instead.”

“Ah…” You couldn’t help but betray the sinking feeling in your gut.

“I’m sorry, angel. I know I haven’t been as available, but it’s only temporary, I promise!”

“Ok then.” You didn’t sound convinced.

“Go on and pick out a place and send it to me. I won’t be long! You know me!”

“Sure.” You hung up the phone and went over the background information you’d been accumulating over time. It had to just be in your head. The way he doted over and adored you, there’s no way he’d be cheating!

You flipped through some places to grab a bite and hovered over the button to send it to him when a thought overcame you. You had his personal email added onto your phone as a contact and in the moment you realized that you could see where he was going through his GPS.

No! It was a huge breach of privacy! You trusted him, right? And then you thought back to all the distractions he brought up whenever you confronted him about his behavior - how he always had an escape for every question you brought up.

You clutched your phone a moment before pulling up his location, the dot moving in real time as he undoubtedly was flying over the city. You weren’t sure where he was going, but you were close enough to follow, even on foot. If this all really was a misunderstanding he’d forgive you, right? And if it wasn’t… well, the ball would be in your court then. 

You gathered your things and flew as if carried on your own set of wings.

When you were stopped at a crossing, you sent him a meetup location so you didn’t seem suspicious, just out of the way enough to seem reasonable you were in the same neighborhood. 

You followed behind and even caught occasional glimpses of him high in the air at times, the red wings much harder to parse out in the setting sunlight, until finally the dot on your phone stood still and you could confirm he was at his destination. It was the back of an abandoned store?

There didn’t seem to be soul for miles around. What on earth was he doing here? Your heart pounded in your chest as you crept around to where he seemed to be - a dark alleyway that kept an already remote location away from prying eyes. You heard them before you saw them, and carefully rounded the corner to peek at what was happening. There he was, all right; but who was the hooded figure he was talking to? You couldn’t make out his face beneath the hood, but you could tell he was tall, and that whatever their relationship he and Hawks were NOT on good terms.

“-ot you what you wanted. I don’t exactly know what you plan to do with it, but I hope that just goes to show how seriously I take this.”

“Sure, sure, birdie.” He gave a shrug and a wry chuckle. “Tell ya the truth, I don’t even know what I’ll do with it.”

“Wh-” Hawks exhaled and spread his palms as if to physically drop the matter. “Let me guess, you’ll want -”

But at this point, you’d stopped noticing what they were talking about because in the course of their back and forth banter the hooded figure had glanced in your general direction, and you swore he locked eyes with you.

Something in his gaze made your more base survival instincts kick in - the kind that knows that when you’ve been caught by a life-threatening predator sometimes the best mode of action is to stay as still as possible and hope they fool themselves into believing they never saw you. And so it was for an agonizingly long time. Hawks seemed too preoccupied and distracted to pick up your racing heart, urgent breathing, and terrified quaking. You must have been panicked enough to be seeing things because you could swear that you and this mystery man shared some sinister, intimate exchange. You caught the turquoise blue color of his eyes, the slant of thin eyebrows peeking out from under straight black hair, and then you finally noticed the stitches somehow catching some stray glint of light in the twilight. Only after the last rays of warm yellow and red light tucked themselves away behind the horizon and the cool and menacing blues of the night crept out of the shadows did you finally notice the scars.

“Are you even listening to me?”

He lazily blinked and turned his attention back to the winged hero, but to you it felt as if a hand that had been clutching your throat finally let go and you did’t bother to stick around to hear the rest of their exchange. You knew not to scramble or run, it would only make you clumsy and you could not afford a mistake now! As you speed walked, careful not to stop your feet or breathe too heavily, you only caught the man’s fading reply in the background.

“Just a stray alley cat.”

You forgot about dinner plans. You forgot about everything Hawks had told you about being safe - about going to a public place and calling the police, a hero, him, anyone. You wanted to escape to the only place in your mind that felt safe at the moment, and place was home. When you felt sure enough you could bolt without being noticed you took off like a frightened rabbit and made your way home looking over your shoulder the whole way.

Hawks was worried when he went to your restaurant location to not see you there. He sat down, ordered a drink and sent you a text, assuming you were in the bathroom; but he couldn’t find your bag anywhere, and when he asked the staff they said no one matching your description had come into the building. One panicked assessment of the restaurant later and he confirmed that all bodies were accounted for and you weren’t one of them. He checked his phone again to see you hadn’t even seen his message yet, and you didn’t pick up when he called your phone.

In a panic, he called every acquaintance you shared to see if you’d maybe gone somewhere else as he headed to your home to check for you there. You were upset at him, right? He’d been pushing his luck keeping secrets from you without giving you some sort of reason to not suspect him. No, even in the worst cases you would at least tell him you were mad. You would never string him along like this and make him legitimately worry.

His panic rose to new heights as he got a call from a familiar number.

“What do yo-”

“I never took you as the cat type, birdy; but if I were you I’d put a bell on that little kitty in case she wanders off again.” The voice cut him off. “It’d be a shame if something happened to her. Strangers can be so cruel, after all.”

And then he hung up.

He landed on the balcony of his apartment, and fumbling with his keys he finally got the door open, ready to frantically search the apartment and call the police if it turned up empty. But thank god, there you were sitting with your arms tucked up to your knees on the couch. He barely had the mental presence to shake off his shoes when he stumbled in and threw his arms around you.

“(Y/N), my god, where have you been? What happened; I’ve been trying to reach you!”

You couldn’t look him in the eye. You gained a new sense of composure in his presence, but what you’d learned tonight weighed heavy on your mind.

“I-I…”

“What? Did something happen?”

“That was Dabi, wasn’t it?”

You could hear a pin drop in the silence. Everything was still, and the only sounds Hawks could hear was the throbbing of his own heartbeat in his eardrums.

“T-that, that was him. That was the League of Villains’ Dabi, right? The arsonist and murderer?” You rambled looking for a confirmation from him, but all that whirled in his head was Dabi’s threat. He’d seen you. He knew who you were. You weren’t safe now.

“Why were you talking with him? Are you working together?”

“(Y/N),” Hawks could barely see behind the anger and anxiety welling up in his chest. “Are you hurt, did-?”

“Keigo!!!”

He snapped to attention at his real name - only ever spoken from your lips any more. It was as if he’d been pulled from some sort of alternate dimension at the call. His vision cleared and he saw you place a hand on either side of his face as you looked him in the eye.

“Keigo… Are you working with the League of Villains?”

Oh how long had he been holding back the fear and the tension - the apprehension of how he knew he wasn’t a right fit for this mission but he had no other choice? It was all a bad dream, but it had become a night terror the moment you stepped into it. He all but collapsed into your touch as he put the pieces together in his head.

“You followed me?”

“Yes.”

“You saw him?”

“Yes, what’s going on?”

Finally, as voices calmed again and the exhaustion overtook you both, he gave you a straight answer. “Things’re bad, (Y/N). I can’t tell you much of anything, you’re too involved already; but by god if I could stop now I would.” You listened intently as he continued.

“I’m in some fucking deep shit,” The intensity and emotion escaping his lips surprised him. “and if I could back out I would. If I could wrap it up and send it off I would; but every time I think I make progress, the mark just gets further and further and further away. And today…” His voice trailed as he once more looked into your worried eyes, tears spilling over at the edges. This time he cupped your face in his hands. “Please, (Y/N), angel, I need you to promise - I need you to SWEAR that you’ll forget this ever happened. I need you to forget EVERYTHING you saw or heard. I keep telling myself this is for the best, but…” He let out a shudder, “I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you to it.”

There was some shared sobs as you hugged each other, the reality of the situation growing more grave with every moment.

“I wish you were cheating on me.” 

He gave a humorless chuckle. Was that suppose to make him laugh, or were you genuinely serious? “No matter what happens, I’ll make sure you’re taken care of, I swear!”

“Don’t talk like that!”

“It’s my job, angel. I don’t have a choice. If I wasn’t before, I’m definitely going to end this as soon as possible. The only way out at this point is through.”

They camped out on the back patio until the sun set. He cooked gyoza and rice balls and some pan-fried chicken, and she ordered ice cream delivery, and they nested their knees together and tucked into a pint of something labeled ‘Just Ask’ and when he asked, she wouldn’t tell him, not even when he tickled her (It wound up being a delicious caramel-Oreo flavor). She instead told him about her degree and moving out, about keeping in contact with Mitsunari as he served in Tanzania through hand-written notes on origami paper. They swapped curated Instagram snapshots and embarrassing anecdotes and reminisced. 

“I’m sorry,” she said finally. “About your dad.”

Masamune shrugged. There was nothing to say. It hurt and always would, but that was his private journey. “Old bastard waited too long to have kids s’what. If he’d had me at a nice, respectable age, we wouldn’t be doing this, the old coot!” He waved a dramatic fist at the sky, relishing her giggles. “You fucked up!”

Overhead, his mother’s bedroom light flicked on. 

“Shit,” he muttered. She dropped her face into her hands to stifle the raucous laughter. 

“How—” Now she was whispering. Masamune wriggled closer, their legs reflexively entwining. “How’s that going?”

“Better than it used to. We can talk without yelling. Something something time and distance. I’m planning on hunkering down here for a little bit, and once all of the stuff is settled, I’ll probably go back north. The restaurant owners offered to hold my position for me, which is really nice.” 

“Hell yeah it is. Isn’t that kind of a cut throat world? They must love you.”

“Yeah. Good openings don’t stay open long in the restaurant biz, so that’s really cool.” Absently, he ran his thumb over the whorls of the deck. “What about you? What’s next?”

“Well.” And she paused, eyes luminous. “I got offered a job interview out east. It’s a good job.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.” Once upon a time, when she was too nervous to really settle her heart on something she wanted, she smiled shyly and fluttered her eyes away. Some things stayed the same. His heart surged as the familiar expression played out before him. “It could be a game changer for me.”

“That the case, huh?”

“Yeah. I mean, I have to do some logistics, and I have to interview, right? But if I get it…” She stretched up to the sky, wriggling her fingers long at the clouds, all the prickled flesh on her arms visible in the cold moonlight. Without thinking, he shuffled closer to warm her. “I mean, I have to actually get to the interview first, so there’s the first hurdle.”

Masamune chewed his lip. “How far out is it?”

“It’s in Virginia. Complete other side of the country. The plane tickets are outrageous.”

“Damn. Guess you’re road tripping, huh?”

A gust of warm breath huffed from her lips. “I mean, I hate going on them alone, but I don’t even have a car right now. Mine got totaled; kid hit me when I was driving down here. Guess I’m taking a damn greyhound.”

His first reaction was to say ‘yikes’, and then… well. Masamune paused, soaking in the possibilities. “So you need a car is what you’re saying?”

“Mmhmm.”

Back in the day, his dad often said that the universe lined things up. Masamune didn't exactly believe in fate—he believed in making things happen—but occasionally, he saw the reasoning. 

“How do you like eighties cars?” He asked. 

She eyed him, a smile in her eyes and voice. “Like the Camaro? Sure, it’s cool. Why?”

Masamune snickered. “Everything in the Date family is cool as hell. What if I told you I could get you a car and a road trip buddy?”

The click of her brain working was almost audible. “Don’t you have to be here?”

“Gotta wait for the death certificates, which is probably a week or so. Mom wants the Camaro gone, and if she has to be around me too long, she’ll probably get sick of me real quick. I might as well make myself scarce and hang out with a dear friend. Besides—I’ll cut you a deal on selling you it. Call it a test drive.”

“A test drive? For like, a week?” But she was grinning, her shoulders angled in toward his. “Weeklong test drives aren’t kosher, Mr. Date.”

“And I’m not Jewish.”

“Are you being serious right now?”

“Serious as my dad’s grave.” Masamume brushed a lock of stray hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. “Want me along for the ride?”

Once upon a time, years ago, the whole gang got into an altercation with an older man in a Ford pickup. They were only teenagers sitting on a dock, but the guy pulled up and screamed at them for ‘loitering’. Mitsunari tried to intervene, and when the man acted like he might hit him, Ieyasu almost threw hands himself. They’d retreated into the woods—and when the man left, Masamune, Mitsuhide, and she went back and lit the dock on fire to spite him. Right beforehand, she’d fixed him with the most mischievous expression he’d ever seen: mouth sucked into her teeth, eyes glittering, staring out from under her lashes. 

Now, she made that same expression, and it lit a fire in him. 

“We’d have to leave like…” She mentally calculated. “In three days to make it.”

“Or we could take the long road, do a little sightseeing, and leave tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow?” She echoed. Only a half second later, that smile was back. “I’m game.”

At six a.m. sharp, Masamune tried to wake her by flinging rocks at her window. That didn't work. At last he resorted to calling her, discovering that she stayed in a completely different room now. 

“Could’a used that knowledge,” he chuckled, hopping in place to warm his legs. The fog pressed in around him, September chill early this year. “Don’t suppose anyone is using that room?”

Her voice was thin, but warm over the phone. “No, it’s a home gym now.” 

“Great! I didn't hassle anyone else. Get out here, Kitten, we got a road to get on.”

She emerged twenty minutes later, sweatpants fresh from the dryer, wet hair in a sloppy bun and a suitcase click-clacking behind her. She never was a morning person. Masamune snickered and popped the Camaro trunk. “Wanna drive, or wanna let me do it?”

“You start. Can we get some Starbucks?”

“Ugh.” He clutched his chest, mock-wounded. “All of the coffee places in the world, and you want Starbucks. My palate is crying.”

Rolling her eyes, she slid into the passenger seat. “Drama queen.”

They got Starbucks. She tucked her feet into fuzzy socks and folded them under her knees, clutching the large mocha. Only the rush of the road beneath their tires filled the silence. Asphalt and trees emerged from the mist like a benevolent ghost, Americana obscured. They’d only just merged onto the highway when Masamune realized there wasn’t an audio jack in the car.

“Shit,” he muttered. 

She opened her eyes, head lolling on the headrest. “What?”

He flicked the dashboard. Nope, no audio jack. Not even a CD player. No; amidst all the toggles and buttons of the dash was a cassette player. “I don’t have anything to listen to. This thing won’t hook up to the phones, and I don’t have any tapes.”

“Hm.” Taking a long sip of her drink, she mused, “Maybe your dad has some in here?”

“I guess that’d make sense. Take a look around, would you?”

Sure enough, she was right. Tucked away in the glove compartment was a treasure trove: Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, AC/DC, Prince, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen. “Damn,” she chuckled, “Your dad had good taste.”

Masamune took the copy of Rumors in his fingers, never taking his eyes off the road. The dust was thick under his thumb. “He’d play ‘Back in Black’ when he picked me up from school. It was cool as hell.” With a snap, he pried open the copy of Rumors and popped it into the player. The speakers hummed to life with strumming guitar, Fleetwood Mac echoing. “I know there’s nothing to say, someone has taken my place…” She rested her elbow on the center console, brushing his arm with her as she texted. 

“Guess what?” She murmured. “Mitsunari just got back from Tanzania.”

“Oh shit, really?” How long had it been? Masamune mentally calculated the dates. “I guess it has been two years, huh? The Peace Corps finally turned him loose?”

“Yeah. He’s apparently crashing at Ieyasu’s place—” Masamune barked a laugh, and she tittered, but continued, “—and wants to know if we’re going to head that direction.”

“He’s in Maryland, right?” Fishing out his phone, he checked it. “Yasu didn't tell me about this. Bastard. Well, we get there fast enough, then we can definitely hunker down there for a day or so and celebrate his coming back.”

Classic rock kept them company on the long drive. He didn't mind roadtrips. There was something sacred about them. Forget the American Dream; it was dead. Long live the American Road Trip, a rite of passage for the lost souls from sea to shining sea. Nothing cleared the senses like cranking up the heater on the floorboards and rolling down the window to a blast of autumn air. She let down her hair and it whipped wild in the wind. 

Thank God she was here. Masamune quietly relished her reappearance in his life. She was a gateway to an old world, one with his father alive, one where he still snuck out of the house at night and biked to the 7-Eleven for slurpees at 3a.m. They stopped at a Cracker Barrel for dinner and ordered root beer floats and roasted each other over the annoying ‘jump-the-pegs’ game perched on every table. Though you were supposed to reduce it to one peg, she couldn’t quite manage it. Somehow she kept getting two or three. 

“I got it down to one peg once,” she laughed, shoving it toward him. Masamune swirled it under his hand. 

“I can do it,” he commented. “But that’s because Mitsunari taught me the trick years ago.” He knocked the first peg out of the top of the triangle, moving it elsewhere. “That’s the one that’s gotta be empty. From there on out, there’s a set solution.”

She craned over it, investigating. “What’s the set solution?”

A long, hefty pause lingered between them as he slurped some of his float. 

“Dunno anymore.” He cracked a grin. “I forgot like, eight years ago.”

“Ass! Then you don’t know!” She swatted at his arm and grinned. “Liar!”

“Hey! I was just trying to look cool in front’a you, Kitten, I can’t look like some big dumb stud after all these years—”

“I love how you allow for the possibility that you’re dumb,” she cackled, “but not the possibility that you’re anything other than hot.”

“Am I wrong? Look at me.”

The roll of her eyes was exactly what he wanted. She shoved a biscuit at him over the table. “I think Mark Twain said something like, ‘it’s better to stop talking and appear dumb than open your mouth and remove any doubt’, Masamune.”

He clutched at his chest, but took the biscuit anyway. “You wound me, Kitten.”

As they were paying the bill, she split off and reappeared a minute later, plunking thirty cents onto the cash register and tucking a cinnamon stick into his jacket pocket. “Here.”

“My favorite!” He peeled back the plastic wrapper. “Thanks, Kitkat. You remembered.”

For the first time since they’d seen each other again, her expression evolved to one he’d almost forgotten. He’d only seen it once before. It was a moonlit night back in their senior year, after prom, when they were both lingering in the pool as everyone else passed out drunk. He’d wiped a leaf from her hair and told her she was beautiful, and she’d looked at him like that so long and hard that he wondered if he’d ever known her inner thoughts at all. 

“Of course I remembered,” she answered at last, soft and clarion clear. “I remember all kinds of things about you, Masamune.”

Something Wicked this way comes

Holidays and seasons were creations on Prime. They served to mark the passage of time and stave off the boredom of existence whilst creating distractions from daily obligations such as work and paying bills. At least that was how most of the residents in the twelve realms saw it. Here holidays that were celebrated on Prime were not common and treated as a kind of novelty. They were lavishly over emphasised versions of whatever was deemed the norm for mortal humans.

When the Princess of Limbo came into power these events that hitherto had only been recreated through descriptions passed on from word of mouth by someone who had documented the drunken ramblings of returning foot soldiers that had spent a full cycle on Earth and were eagerly regaling the scribes with the tales as more welcoming ales were handed to them. Now there was someone who had lived the events first hand and could present the real deal to them.

“I really don’t get why we are doing this.” Yukimura grumbled as he sunk the dagger in his hand into the tender flesh of the bright orange gourd.

“Oh, quit complaining and just do it already. Quicker it’s done the quicker we can get back to doing everything else.” Hideyoshi replied even though he was also struggling to understand why this was a fundamental part of a holiday. But it if was what the Princess wanted; he was more than happy to oblige.

“What are you carving anyway?”

“It’s a face. Sadie said you carve faces into these things.” Hideyoshi held the pumpkin to head height turning it to face front and show off his handy work.

“That’s a face?” Yukimura hid nothing of his shock allowing his jaw to drop at the creation being displayed.

“Of course. Why what do you think it looks like?” Hideyoshi arched his brow questioningly.

“You really don’t want me to answer that.” Yukimura muttered returning to his own creation, whittling away layers of the skin to produce a more three-dimensional look to its design.

“Have you two finished your little task yet?” A cheerful voice called out from the door as the owner entered with all the grace of a slithering snake.

“Nearly. How did setting up the audience hall go?” Hideyoshi replied while he added in a few things he had just thought of that should clear up the confusion over his pumpkin.

“Finished. I had a little bother removing some stains from the large cauldron but after Masa’s dragon helped jet wash it, it was a piece of cake. I must say Yukimura that is a splendid looking Pumpkin.” Mitsuhide bent down and peered over the to men’s shoulders showering praise on the younger one.

“Thank you.”

“And Hideyoshi…?” Mitsuhide turned to look at the second pumpkin for a little longer. Yellow eyes taking in the details carved out of the giant vegetable.

“Yes?”

“… well at least you tried.” Mitsuhide patted Hideyoshi’s shoulder as if consoling a child that had just lost some sort of race in school.

“Why you!”

“How’s it going in here?” Sadie entered carrying some candles.

“It would appear the pumpkins you have requested Princess are complete.” Mitsuhide turned ignoring the imminent threat from Hideyoshi who had stopped at the sight of Sadie from pointing his dagger at the white-haired menace.

“Really? That’s great let’s see them then they need the candles.” Sadie beckoned for the pumpkins taking Yukimura’s first and looking at it happily.

“You could just use some of your talents to create the light, couldn’t you?” Yuki picked up one of the candles and looked at it as if checking to see if it was really just a candle.

“I could but that would be like taking the heart out of the holiday Yuki. Wow, this is great!” Sadie traced over the intricate carving with her index finger.

“You said it had to have a face on it.” Yuki blushed a shade of crimson and rubbed his hand at the back f his neck avoiding eye contact. It made Sadie giggle as even after all this time he still could get so embarrassed easily over nothing much at all.

“I had no idea you could carve like this though it almost looks like a real gargoyle. And Yoshi…” Sadie put down Yuki’s pumpkin in favour of Hideyoshi’s turning it over and over in her hands as she tilted her head this way and that to look at the pattern.

“Before you say it I know. I have been told it doesn’t look like –” Hideyoshi began what was about to become a formal apology for failing in his task only to be cut off in his endeavour.

“It looks just like a Picasso. How fabulous! I mean there is an eye there and one here too. It’s wonderful.” Sadie beamed a happy smile that had any retort from the others dying in their throats.

“I thought you said they had to be faces.” Yuki asked as he was the first to snap out of his confusion and drew closer to get a better look at the “fabulous” pumpkin.

“Well, they are just different styles. Besides faces is tradition on pumpkins but lots of other things are also carved on them too. Dragons, bats, witches…” Sadie happily explained as she placed another candle into the second pumpkin and lit it.

“I wonder what our dear Hideyoshi would pleasure us with on his next attempt…” Mitsuhide drolled teasingly.

“Say that again snake and I’ll show you first hand.” Hideyoshi muttered just loud enough for the other man to hear him.

“Promises, promises.”

“What is up with you two today? You are fighting worse than usual.” Sadie asked. Both men had been like this all day. In fact, it had been since the previous night where she had asked Mitsuhide to help with the planning and decorating as Hideyoshi was busy with other work and Mitsuhide had requested some time to ask her questions about the requirements so they had spent a half-hour alone in her office discussing it all.

“Nothing at all.”

“Uhuh. Well anyway. Let’s go put these at the gate so the visitors can see them.” Suddenly realising the reason behind the tension Sadie smiled and sent out some calming emotions to them through the bond. The men visibly relaxed and followed after her.

“Oh, Sadie!” Hideyoshi called out about to grab back his pumpkin that was being carried by the Princess.

“Yes?”

“No nothing…” He pulled back his hand and tried to ignore the new sensation bubbling up in him.

“Feeling a little embarrassed are we Prince?” Mitsuhide hissed.

“Shut up!”

“If you two are going to start kissing or something can you warn me so I can get out the way? I have enough dealing with Shingen and all his antics without that as well today.” Yukimura cast out his words as he brushed past the bickering men and made his way to the gates with Sadie.

The audience chamber was decorated in coloured paper streamers and bunting, the autumnal harvest display alongside the abundance of candy looked like something out of a glamour magazine on Prime. It was perfect.

There was a bucket set up to bob for apples. Sugar doughnuts hung on strings from a washing line so you could eat them with your hands held behind your back. Mitsuhide had even cleaned up a few cells in the dungeon and set them up as a part of a haunted house. Something that was later inspected and deemed too dangerous by Orion and therefore shut down.

Creatures from all over the realms had paid a visit and received their treats and now it was down to the last few guests. The ones that would stay and drink till dawn. Dannie came bouncing in her vibrant hair offsetting the rainbow spiderweb pattern on her costume perfectly. Her luminous pink wings fluttered as she ran into the room.

“BOSS!” She practically jumped into Sadie’s arms as she wrapped her up in a big hug. You would have thought they hadn’t seen each other in years not just a few months.

“Dannie! I’m glad you made it.”

“Well, I had a little help.” Dannie looked over at the devil that entered the room. He had put on a pirate costume for the evening and Sadie had to admit it suited him, and not just because of the eye patch.

“Thanks, Masa.”

“No problem. I found her jumping around in the street.” He laughed patting Dannie on the head before moving towards Yasu and joining him in grabbing a candied apple.

“In the street?” Sadie looked worriedly at Dannie.

“I was not jumping around in the street! Ok, you know the Irish pub on the corner by work? They were having a singles night and –” Dannie animatedly tried to dispel the worry albeit in a rather flustered fashion.

“Ha-ha, it’s cool honestly. You look nice. Cobweb fairy?”

“Rainbow cobweb fairy if you please.” Dannie put her hands on her hips giving her best sassy attitude performance she could. The heels of her flower-patterned combat boots clicked on the stone making it seem even funnier.

“Well, naturally I apologise.” Sadie laughed causing Dannie to start laughing as well.

“AUNTIE!” Happy voices shouted loud in the room bouncing off the vaulted ceiling.

“Alcaeus! Saffie!” Sadie turned to scoop up the two little Angels. Alcaeus had the same flame-red hair like his mother, his father’s eyes and smoke grey wings. Saffie was the perfect representation of an angel, fluffy white wings with silver hair but she had the same magnetic amber flame hued eyes as her mother.

“Hey, you two little monsters don’t just run off from the gate leaving your Dad and me behind!” The angel of mercy appeared a little out of breath but smiling.

“Good to see you Aerion.”

“You too Sis.”

“Aerion!”

“Wha—Ack! Orion you’re going to dislocate a wing.” Orion in a slightly drunken display had grabbed his big sister in a bear hug. Sadie made a mental note to check the level of alcohol in the punch bowl or at the very least check to see if Orion’s cup had been spiked with something that affected only angels. It might be a family gathering but they were all living with demons and devils after all.

“Oh thank heaven’s you found them.” Uriel rushed in behind his wife openly sighing when he saw the two children clinging to their aunt.

“Uriel this is my plain you can hardly lose these two and even if you did I would find them.”

“I know I’m sorry.”

“Such a worrywart.” Aerion elbowed him in the ribs something he took easily before helping to get her released from her brothers embrace.

“Hey, you cherubs want to bob for apples?” Shingen called out from over by the games. Kenshin was sitting opposite him waiting for the tall redhead to make his move on the chessboard.

“YAY!” both angels ran over and were joined by Masa and Ieyasu. Masa explaining what to do and Ieyasu standing by with a towel reminding them not to drown or it would give him more work in the infirmary.

“Nobunaga don’t eat all the candy.” Hideyoshi could be heard with his usual reminder.

“Shingen that goes double for you two.” Yukimura echoed the demand causing everyone to chuckle.

“Hehe, it’s hard to see who the kids are and who are the grown-ups isn’t it?”

“Vad you made it.”

“Well large crowds are not my thing but you make allowances for family.”

“Well said.”

In the courtyard, the soul beasts were enjoying their own collection of treats and looking fondly at the bipeds as they partook of games and drinks. One by one the creatures began to drift into sleep.

Mochi curled up into a purple smoke ball held close by Kyrion. Ugo and Gualtero were laying side by side the great hellcat pulling on the furry ninetails to use some of it’s tails as a blanket. Savrog and Kirek had fallen asleep side by side on a branch above the collection of critters their wings touching making their glow look like it was shaped in a love heart. A fact that no one wished to say to the two bickering birds for fear of scorching. 

Takeshi-Akshai and Vode were close by. The former in his usual corgi sized form was curled up on one of Kenshin’s capes. Zilli was enjoying the dancing shadows in the audience chamber and played a few pranks on the children where they would make things float around and tickle them.

Sheverosh waited for a time before he moved away from the group and made his way to the roof. Something that Sadie had not failed to sense. As soon as the party had lulled into something close to the end she made her way to join him.

“Did you enjoy your holiday Sadie?” The great dragon enquired from the battlements.

“Yes, it was great. I mean it wasn’t exactly as it was on Prime but it was better than nothing. Why are you up here?”

“Clearing my head. I find that there are times that it is a little difficult to maintain myself in large groups. I have been alone for some time after all.” Sheverosh explained eloquently something that was certainly relatable.

“You too huh? I mean I get it. I obviously prefer to be surrounded by people I care for than to be alone but I get it there are just sometimes you want to be alone and hit that reboot button.”

“Reboot?” The dragon turned to look at Sadie his golden scales shimmering like golden grass in a summer breeze.

“It means to recharge and have some you time so you can get up the next day and be you again the next day. So, I guess we aren’t dissimilar.” Sadie smiled and looked out over the castle wall to the land that had become her home.

“No, we aren’t. I too would prefer the company to being alone but you are right there are times you crave solitude in the chaos.” Sheverosh nodded solemnly.

“Think we’re in the wrong plain for that.” Sadie chuckled maintaining her focus in the distance. Something was on the horizon she felt almost sure of it but for the time being, it was beyond her sight.

“Perhaps we are. But it’s a good balance.” Sheverosh turned to look in the same direction joining her in her nightly observations.

“Yes, it is.”

Selene Crawford: The Mission, The  Clan , The Judgment

Warnings: Violence, kidnapping situations, guns, Cursing (yup is still there)

The soft notes of the piano could be heard at the mansion. Luxury, pure tones of pearl, gold and black where everywhere. On the main bath of suite Selene was at the bath tub being cleaned up by the maids. In order to prevent her from escaping Tobias kept her drugged. He didn't want her precious flower to whither before the main event. Selene was being treated as a queen even though she will be judged as a traitor. Tobias, still thought he could change her mind. Men were blindfolded in to prevent them see her naked body.

Once dry she was pampered, and dress with exquisite care, like a princess. Selene try not to cry since she knew this was only a preparation for what she will have to face. The law inside the clan was absolute. Still Tobias wanted to buy her with luxury and pampering. Her mind then went to Masamune. His smile, his mischievous smile and his passionate look when they made love. Desperate she tried to think in an escape, but her main concern being unable to move was her main worry.

(Calm down, I need to think. There is got to be a way, but which?)

“I bet you are thinking in a way to leave. See, how perfect I am for you? Why can't you see that?” Tobias approached her silently and surprised her with a soft whisper to her ear.

Selene shudder internally, the sound of a drop began to be heard on her memory. A distant image became clearer are Tobias kept talking. With a deep sigh, Selene began meditating ignoring the whispers. All she wanted to see was Masamune, with this she blocked Tobias alluring words turning into just gibberish. If Ian wanted her on top shape she will have to start preparing. There was no time to loose. Tobias, frown after saw Selene's deep breath, the treatment was not working. Fine, he did all he needed to do. Applying the antidote, he left leaving Selene on her own.

“So be it love. Is your choice. Bring her in 5 hours to the chamber.”

“Yes, Sir.” said one of the guard at the entrance of the room.

Tobias walked punched one of the marble walls. Cursing Selene's stubbornness he went to prepare for the judgment.

“If you won't be mine then you will pay for your treason with your life.”

At Mai's warehouse, the preparations for the invasion of the clan's lair were advanced. The guys will be diving in two main groups. Sasuke, Mitsurani, Lancelot, Mai, Yuki and Shingen will stay at the base. Shingen, Mitsurani and Yuki as back up in case they need to get them out if they can't. The rest as technical, and surveillance support.

The main group was compose of Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, Kenshin, Ieyasu and Masamune who refused to stay.

“You can't go Masamune, you might risk a fracture or even death. You are not in conditions to go into a fight. Are you out of your fucking mind? Nobunaga aren't you going to tell him something?” Ieyasu was at wits end trying to prevent Masamune from going.

“I will do the same if I were him.” was the only thing Nobunaga could say while discretely looking at Mai.  

“So he wants to go and kill himself OK, no problem, now why the fuck am I have to go? Can you answer me that?” Although pissed off Ieyasu was looking more calm than agitated.

“We need all the man power we can. Also you are a good fighter. “Yasu”.” Hideyoshi took several assault rifles and bags.

“Don't call me that.” sneer Ieyasu.

Masamune stood next to Ieyasu. “I'm not a man of going around pleading, but Selene is precious to me. Your help getting her back safe will mean a lot to me, and her. You need to meet her.” putting his hands on his pockets Masamune gave Ieyasu a sad smile.

“Too bad I met her before you. And you don't need to convince me. I'm going, she deserves to be happy. Just know that if you make her cry even once I'm making you pay for it.” Ieyasu smirk at the face of surprise of Masamune when he heard the information. Taking that as his sign Ieyasu took his equipment and left for the car.

“Where is the Snake?” Kincaid was looking for Mitsuhide.

“He went ahead, he is securing the perimeter and our contact in and out.” said Mai before Nobunaga could open his mouth.

“Mitsuhide can you hear us?”

“Loud and clear my little mouse. There is not movement at the castle yet. I'm already in position.” his voice have a tone of diversion and pleasure.

Everyone was tense and getting ready. Ieyasu secured Masamune's chest with a special bandage that will protect him for getting hard hits. The bandage was cool so will maintain part of the swelling down. Popping pain killers like candy Masamune took a couple and went to put his own equipment on one of the 3 black RTR's assigned. Nobunaga/Hideyoshi , Kenshin, Ieyasu and him on the third one. Kenshin didn't mind alone since he thought having a partner was more a hindrance. Once everyone was ready they left one by one. The road to the castle was a bit long but they managed to get a stop to eat something light before arriving to the spot Mitsuhide was stationed.

The castle was at the top of the cliff with a dignified view of the ocean.

“OK, who are these people first of all? And why they have a castle on a cliff erosion anyone?” Ieyasu's statement might be cliche, but so it was the location of the castle.

“What's the status Mitsuhide?” it was Nobunaga's turn to ask.

“The bells sounded 3 times one hour later 2 times and a couple of minutes ago 1 time. So far no more sounds or movement after that.

“The judgment that asshole is going to judge her.” Lancelot's emotive statement puzzle everyone. It was the first time his tone was out of the educated and polished manner was out of place.

“What does that mean?” Masamume was now concerned.

“ According to out research, the clan have a way to deal with those who do not follow the rules. They make a trial and force the partners to fight to death and if the traitor lives is executed.”

“Partners?”

“ Yes Dragon. According to tradition, the new generation is chosen when they are kids. They train together and when the time comes they marry and take the rains of the clan and make the next generation. If one dies before having children another pair of children is choose. When Selene refused the laws of the clan this got her branded as a traitor. But Ian pretended to protect her.” indicated Lancelot.

“And you deemed necessary to share this information now because?” it was Mitsuhide's time to be inquisitive. “It's interesting how much you know about the clan for people who were kept in the dark.”

“No need for your venom Snake. We didn't say anything for security measures. Both me and Kincaid are part of the clan. We thought to let the tradition die. Many of the methods to get the kids were cruel and aberrant.”

“What methods?, what are you talking about Lancelot?” Nobunaga didn't like the sound of that.

“What you are imagine Devil, in order to recruit our new recruits they must be break and their soul pulverized. Their soul must be tarnished, with blood, darkness and hate.” Corrupting them on a early age is part of the process.” continue Lancelot explaining.

“Wait, you don't mean...” Ieyasu tried to speak but his voice trailed off.

Yes, Dr. Tokugawa, Selene's parents didn't die on a car accident. We killed them in order to recruit Selene.”

The sound of the sea at the distance was the only thing breaking the deafening silence thru the communications channel.

Selene was escorted to the main inside patio of the castle. The sound of the agitated was around. The smell of salt, old stone and lime was strong. This help Selene to clear completely her mind. As a last request from Tobias she had a light meal. Wearing a pair of hand cuffs she walked slowly, without haste. This is her last minutes alive, she was on her way to be judge. Wearing skinny black jeans with black leather corset and a black shirt under. Complementing the outfit a military jacket with crossing zipper. Her hair was done on a french braid with a sultry make up and red cherry lips. The look made her a totally different person, someone she refused to be ever since she was trained for it. The walk ended once they arrived once they got into the inside Patio. A circle of wood was around the place. Looking around the smell of gasoline hit her like a slap on the face. Torch were around with potent light from the ceiling. Outside the circle were many people clothed on ninjitsu uniforms and face covered.

Outside of the circle on a podium was Ian wearing a dark robe. Inside the circle Tobias was armed and waiting for her. Taking a deep unperceptive breath Selene entered the circle. The place was spacious enough for them to fight. Little by little Selene connected some of the pieces. Ian began to speak.

“We are gathered here to pass judgment and uphold our traditions and values.”

“What values? Killing, for money? Are you fucking kidding me?” Selene dint let Ian continue. She need to stall the process until they arrive.

“You are so easy to read love, stalling this won't help. You made a choice.” No I didn't, I never asked for it. And I'm' not your love.” that last sentence was made into a sneer full  hate.

“You never respected our traditions, you stepped on them. We gave you food, a roof, money.”

“Really? A conditionally love, as long as I learn to kill, deceive and steal. What kind of life is that for a child? You never cared for me. You only wanted me to lead the clan with Tobias. How could you kill your wife, his mother? I know your secret Ian.”

“And who you think killed your parents Selene?” asked Tobias walking towards her to take her handcuffs off.

Selene tried to talk but no sound went out of her mouth. “What?” was the breathless question that she could articulate. Walking around her Tobias smile sweetly while circling her life a shark at the ocean.

“My...my parents died in an accident.” said Selene trying to research her mind for her details of that fateful night.

“You see you are wrong, mi gatita(my kitten), on that night, we choose you, I, no the clan choose you as my bride.” Tobias stood in front of her.

“We were six and yet I fell in love with you that day at the park. I remember telling dad I wanted you. So, we followed you and I decided to get you. See, you might had block some parts of that night, but I stood in the middle of the road and your father loose control.” Once you crashed I just gave the killing blow and killed them with a knife while they were unconscious. They bleed to death. My first trophies.” Tobias stopped to take a good look at Selene.

The bystanders took the torch and started burning the circle of wood around them. Once the circle was completely ignited, Tobias lifted and throw her to the other side of the circle. No but in all honesty I never get how some people can be so damn oblivious when it comes to other people’s feelings for them. It’s not like I’m an expert on men and god beware ‘feelings’ but at least I can tell most of the time when someone’s attracted to me oh my poor Kashuu and Yams, you’re going to have a hard time getting your feelings through ꉂꉂ(ᵔᗜᵔ∗)  Actually I already wrote ‘crush headcanons’ for Kashuu some time ago, so I won’t write new ones because it’s really hard to come up with new ones and just focus on his inner feelings instead I hope you’re okay with that! now that the rules were set, each of them has a different way of trying to woo you

unsurprisingly the award for the worst wingman in the history of ever goes to Izuminokami Kanesada

because not only does he just decide to take Yasusada under his wings despite him raising a hue and cry, he also forces him to recite cheesy pick up lines whenever both of you are finally ‘alone’ 

and by alone i mean you and him relaxing with tea and snacks Yasu has lovingly prepared for you while Kane-san is peeking out behind the corner and glaring daggers and cute baby boy Horikawa mouthing ‘Ganbatte Yasusada-san’ at him

cue Yasu banging his head on the wall everytime afterwards because on the one hand he’s relieved at how adorable and oblivious you are for not getting these admittedly horrible pick-up lines but on the other hand why can’t you see that he’s trying to tell you his feelings??

he’s honestly so close to grabbing you by your shoulders and shaking you like a rag doll because HOW IN THE WORLD can you be so goddamn oblivious?

his frustation with you, Kanesada, but mostly himself can be seen and heard from space

i mean every cell in his body is in love with you how can you not remark it??

but every time you grace him with that innocent yet dazzling smile of yours all his misgivings and frustations just melt away like ice cream on a hot summer day

but now that he got rid of a sulking Mutsonokami he begrudgingly had to admit that he was indeed right, being cute wouldn’t be enough to win your heart 

he knew that you treasured him, but you treasured everyone as well and if he wanted you to see him as someone special he had to treat you even more special than anyone else

Archery Club!AU (Touken Ranbu Headcanon)

Ho boi, this is my first headcanon in here, I’m a little bit nervous. But this has been bugging me so... okay, let’s just give it a go.

Featuring Okitagumi because these boys are just too precious. Also, featuring Saniwa (a.k.a. you), and the boys are crushing on you.

Kashuu Kiyomitsu - let’s just say that instead of joining kendo club, he joins archery instead. - although his nails were messed up because of the practices (and he’s not thrilled about it), he somehow got a knack on it?? - and soon, he became the representative of the Citadel Gakuen in an upcoming national archery competition - well, he actually joined the archery club just because he’s curious, but huh. okay - he likes attention, and there will be tons of TVs and medias in the stadium - he can brag to Yasu about his increased popularity if he wins the competition - so yeah, instead of lazing around watching lame soap operas on the weekend, he goes to the competition - like every other competitors, he felt a little bit nervous - he’s too lost in his thoughts that he didn’t realize he bumped into someone - “ah sorry, are you-?” - “oh no, I’m sorry!! I dropped my coke on your shoes!!” - oh wow - you’re so pretty?? - like how come?? - you’re even prettier than him - he just stared at you dumbfounded - it took few secs for him to actually snap out of his thoughts - “ahh what should I do? now your shoes were ruined...” - “no no, don’t sweat it...” - but you insisted that it’s your fault, and shoved a handkerchief to him - “I’m so sorry, oh my god, please use this. you don’t have to give it back.” - when you offered him an apologetic smile, his heart definitely didn’t skip a beat there - you have the prettiest smile he’s ever seen??? - nope he’s not in love, oh no of course not - turns out that you’re another competitor in the ladies’ bracket - wow, a beauty who could do archery - baby you just shot an arrow straight through his heart please spare him - he must find out your name - Kashuu didn’t win the competition in the end, but he thinks that exchanging emails with you is more worth it than winning gold

Yasusada - Izuminokami and Kiyomitsu won’t stop talking about archery nowadays - like, it’s not even related to kendo?? - ‘please let me practice my kendo and worshipping okita-kun in silence’ - he’s just jealous because the archery club in Citadel Gakuen is way more popular than kendo - this kid is that pathetic please forgive him - one day Kiyomitsu just dragged Yasu over to the archery club because his girl bff’s had been insisting Kiyomitsu to come over - “we should practice kendo, not looking at girls playing with bows” - ofc Kiyomitsu didn’t listen - poor Yasu had to sit down and watch the ladies practicing - he’s in a baaaad mood - “there Yasu! did you see that? isn’t it cool? she’s the ace of the club!” - oh shush Kiyomistu, let me suffer in silence - but the nail-polish-wearing guy forced Yasu to look at the direction he pointed, and he just froze - the first thing that crossed his mind when he saw you was how cool you looked - you just looked like the cupids in some random full-of-myth book he borrowed from Nikkari - CRITICAL ATTACK TO HIS HEART - like how come you can hit every single target without breaking a sweat?? - marvelous - it looks like you’re Kiyomitsu’s friend who invited him to go visit the club - Yasu’s a little bit jealous of Kiyomitsu because he had this friend who’s really beautiful after all this time - wait what - no no no - but when you tried to attempt a small talk with him, he just stopped functioning - oh my god your voice sounds like an angel - please have mercy on him, you made him melt into a blubbering mess of blushing cutie ball - since that day, he’s got this obvious huge crush on you - it’s so transparent to other kendo club members, because he keeps talking about you endlessly - poor okita-kun has been replaced with you - jk Yasu’s love to okita-kun won’t diminish - it took another month for him to finally ask you out, and when you say yes, he had this brightest smile for the whole day - “oh wow, you look cute when you smile like that” - please stop complimenting him, this child has gone overheated
