Mending misinterpretations (Closed - Daylen)
Even since that strange situation in which he had met an older-looking Daylen and gotten that response: hearing that the jokes he made were nothing more than a distraction - and thus, probably himself as well - he’d constantly worried. Did his first friend in this strange realm truly see him as nothing more than an annoyance? He had gone to test if his jokes were nothing more than annoyance with someone else - anything to not burden someone he still considered a friend with such thoughts, even if Daylen didn’t care for him as a friend - yet the talk with the knight had made him realize.
Keeping his distance and not talking to Daylen would not fix this, or alleviate his worries. He had to go to the source: yet, he felt like a rotten person for burdening a friend with such troubles. No, he’d send it in a letter, carefully written. He may not talk of his worries, but he did speak of emotions well enough.
The letter went as such:
‘Daylen - it’s me, Yukimura. I apologize for not coming directly to your face about this, but...I feel rotten as it is for burdening you with this. Best to do it over letter, where my words shan’t burden as much as they would from my mouth. When I met up with you...strangely older, some time ago...you said the small things were only a distraction. As in, my jokes are...and my jokes are so much a part of me that I worry I am not a true help to you, not a friend you feel you can trust.
Just a minor annoyance.
If...if my jokes annoy you so, I won’t ever tell them again should it come to that. But....if you feel like even the lack of jokes would not change me....that I would still be an annoyance....I understand. I understand if you feel you can’t be friends with me anymore, hence why I have kept my distance of late. But I must know for sure, about those words. Answer whenever you have time.’
The letter in hand, he had gone to Daylen’s imposing, towering castle when he was sure nobody else was there. Tucking the letter into the box without a word, once that matter was done, he took a few steps back - but froze on Daylen going to the letterbox. Oh...he shouldn’t be here while he read the letter.
In case he was nothing more than an annoyance to his friend. With not even a hitn of his usual smile, he turned to flee - hopefully, he could dart away before the other stopped him.
If he was nothing more than an annoyance...then. It was best if he keep away for good, for Daylen’s sake, so he didn’t have to put up with that any more.
