Fourth place?! He ended up right next to the podium?! He couldn’t believe it. He just couldn’t believe it. He trained so hard every day and it still wasn’t good enough? It had been years since the last time he ended up next to the podium. Yuki just wasn’t used to it anymore.

Staring at the screen in utter shock, he kept looking at his own name that was placed fourth. His coach was telling him something, but Yuki didn’t listen. Yuri, his cousin and Victor were the top three skaters and he just couldn’t make it. It felt like his world was ending. He could already imagine what people would say.

Eventually, the young skater turned his back; heading to a deserted part of the ice rink. He ignored his coach calling out to him. Finding himself all alone in a dark hallway, Yuki slid down the grey wall, burying his hands in his hair. Slowly, sobs started to escape his lips, followed by tears.
