#-een#baeg#taeg#proper english#weird pet peeve but#people who pronounce -ing words and#and pronounce words like bag or tag as and#i don't know why or what exactly it is but#i just hate it#actually i do know#people who pronounce words like that were the white people who turned around and told me to speak english properly#and the funny (not really) part is that i speak english natively like it's not my mother tongue but i learned english alongside#i'm actually not esl but people assume that i am and also therefore don't speak#my guy i'm from bengal#one of the parts of india that was colonized for the longest#yeah most people there have at least some understanding of english#the grammatical mistakes i make are the same that any other native english speaker would make#and also who are you to decide what is proper english#and the audacity to say that to me while you go around pronouncing words like that infuriates#maybe i'm just linking 2 unrelated things together but#i just heard a youtuber start speaking and they pronounce words like that and i immediately had to click off the video
