That sad smile makes him worry and Dakota knows that he wants to ask what he is going to. As the other looks off and seems to be thinking Dakota reaches for a bag full of tiny bows that he had been popping on presents for others earlier. He presses one to each of his cheeks while he waits for the other to finally look at him again. He looks ridiculous but it makes him a little more brave- and he needs to be.

He swallows some pride and a lot of hurt, “Kind of alone for the holiday. So I figure we could celebrate together. If you felt..like it.”
