I kinda hate queer discourse on tumblr cause it feels like everyone wants to make a banger post and no one wants to actually talk to other kinds of queer people and get what they're saying, and we end up making up new explanations for oppressive systems that don't make any sense.
like example 1 "transmasculine people's access to power under patriarchy is extremely conditional" yes true "because of transmisandry" ok no misandry isn't real though in the same way racism against white people isn't real, what you mean is misogyny or transphobia. if your ability to access power or respect is conditional on whether people do or don't perceive you as feminine/a woman then that's misogyny. men/masculine presenting people can absolutely be negatively affected by patriarchy because there are conditions that must be conformed to to be considered a patriarchal man, and if those aren't abided by then certain power and acceptance is lost (via homophobia, transphobia, racism, misogyny, or intersections of which) but like that's not happening because they're perceived as a certain kind of man, it's because they're being excluded from the patriarchal definition of masculinity. we don't have to invent new words here.
and like I get the irony of critiquing the kind of tendency to try to make a banger or a "gotcha" while making a post about this but it's more just I don't know if people understand what other people are saying sometimes because it's so short form and I think you should talk to other kinds of people at length more. the worst kinds of queer spaces I've been in are ones with a bunch of the same kind of queer people who don't regularly talk to other kinds of queer people and then I see them say the worst shit known to man like please talk to people pleaseeeee
