[5] 💚 Nature. What's an analogy you can think of with nature and systemhood?

note: answers for all these come from our experience as a person with a dissociative disorder, milage may vary for others

so someone on reddit (r/did) posted this once, that sunflowers are actually many many little flowers that make up one big flower-- much like how dissociative parts collectively make up one whole (we also enjoy the "we are a circles making up a venn diagram" idea as it recognized our individual selves but also the whole but that's not nature)

most of us are men, masc, or somehow adjacent to that, and our distribution of transmasc or trans man to cis man in particular seems....honestly pretty even right now? one time before wolf did a census of gender and sexuality in system, and at the time the system was majority masc + acespec members

the use of uh.. I think it's called EMDR resourcing; the stuff they use, like containment, are often applicable to us-- we are all people with trauma, in the end! even the finding solid ground book teaches things like safe place imagery and containment and a few others

side note-- the finding solid ground book is amazing, ad anyone who's been through trauma can it, although it is very inclusive of dissociative folks on principle (i think fsg was started by dissociative disorder experts and does research? unsure...)

(additional note: for pwDID and such, EMDR has to be heavily modified; we haven't done it and we ask our t which resourcing methods are safe for us to use ... but ART and brainspotting are ajacent, and we've tried those, they're okay)
