(note: any building works, though it prefers homes, apartments, and hotels) For a moment, cameras which can see the prey will glitch out, and the prey will find themselves lightheaded. They do not know yet, but they are no longer home.
Analog clocks will no longer have hands, digital clocks will show the time as 00:00, windows will either show pitch black nothingness or an endless grassy plane of nothing.
Most electronics will not work- phones and tablets cant be turned on, tvs will show static, computers are trapped on a bluescreen. Videogame consoles will turn on, and games can be played, but online features will not work. (note: it is unknown at this time why this is.)
It should be noted that attemps to connect a camera to outside have been sucessful; but it seems as though only because the creature allows it. It constantly agknowledges attemps at recording.
If the prey attemps to leave, they will find that all exits... lead into a replica of the house. Anything taken or moved in the original house will also be taken or moved the replicas, no duplication. Sorry.
(note: if the prey is in a hotel or apartment building, the room they were in will simply repeat. Not the whole building.)
Once the prey has realized their situation, the creature will begin to change and warp the building. Doors will lead to the wrong rooms, hallways will extend far beyond what they once did, many examples of impossible geometry, and general House-Of-Leaves-ery. (note: author has not read this book. my dad has it though i should borrow it)
This will continue, alongside constant torment from the creature, until the prey has exhausted themselves and is able to be cornered easily.
The pain does not end here, however. The creature will continue to torment the prey, both physically and mentally, until it gets bored and decides to eat them. (note: most prey is eaten alive- the space seems to allow the human body to far exceed its usual limits)
