That post about Ranking of Kings actually leaves out the fact that the entire story of the Houma and the Gyakuza that OP is saying is a nationalist dogwhistle are not actual events in the story, but in-canon are a story told by the main villain who has a history of manipulation and lying. There is a Korean person in the notes of the post explaining how it's a reach to call the author a nationalist over it.

i don't know what goes down in the manga but in the anime its bosse telling the story n i'm pretty sure bosse is? not the main villain? n i've been watching the show

japanese viewers/readers have been talking abt it too

i'm not korean so i wouldn't want to completely discredit that person but personally i'm not risking it

I'm feeling pretty content at this very moment in time.
