I have a question for autistic people.

Do you have a tendency to point out random things you've noticed about your environment, especially things that have changed? Like "it smells funny in here" or "there's a moth" or "oh, that house has been painted a different colour" etc., and then of course these statements are often misinterpreted as having a hidden meaning - but you meant nothing by them. Just made an observation and announced it.

Personally, I vaguely remember adults getting annoyed with me for doing this as a kid, but I don't remember any specific examples. Now, as an adult, I only do it around people I feel reasonably safe with, or when I'm so surprised that it just slips out.

IF you're autistic, do you do this (or used to until you trained yourself out of it)?
