"This stupid..." It falls into a muttered curse, a clang of metal as the lantern Sol is attempting to re-hang slips, knocking them in the side of the head.

"Don't fall," you call from the edge of the bed where you sit watching. "I'm not sending for the healers when you slip and crack your head open."

They're up too high, perched on a stool far too thin and wobbly, and you'd be lying if you said it didn't make you a little nervous.

They scoff, though it's not directed at you. "Think this thing is gonna take me out first." The lantern is hoisted up once more, and it's soon followed by the light thump of Sol's boots as they hop down, backing up a few steps. "Does it need to be higher?"

"As long as it's up," you respond, reaching out to tug on the edge of their shirt, drawing them back another step. "Let me see."

Sol yields to you far too easily, turning and shifting until they're stood directly before you.

"I'm fine," they insist, a small smile forming when your hand moves to rest against their side. "I don't bruise easy."

The look you give them is skeptical at best, and their smile widens, their nose twisting as they try to hide their laugh. They bend down, a soft kiss pressed to your lips, their hand curling around yours and tugging it free to move your fingertips to the hair at their temple. Not quite touching skin, but close.

"See?" they murmur in between another kiss. "Nothin' to worry about."
