anyway I’m caving, so here’s some stuff about moon’s hands.
01. moon does not mind people holding their hands and will actively use it to calm someone down. a lot of young children are adamant about always holding someone’s hand and once the moon knows about it they make an effort to provide this. they also do not mind curiosity or fidgeting at all. if you start playing with and / or moving around their hands, the moon is very likely to reciprocate.
02. they are incredibly dexterous with their hands, particularly to facilitate sign language and fine motor skills, but also to enable a more controlled and careful interaction with the children. as with all they do, the moon is very deliberate in their movements, fingers included ( they’re great at shadow puppets ! ).
03. just like the rest of the moon’s body, the temperature of their hands can be adjusted. this is particularly useful in case of a headache or fever until a proper cooling / heating pad has been provided.
04. though not nearly as soft as the fabrics they wear, their hands nonetheless have enough give to to be comfortable to hold and be touched by, but still feel solid and safe despite their smooth surface. the pads of their fingers are also the slightest bit more pronounced, something that is very easy to miss.
06. knows how to treat sore muscles and a variety of pressure points to relief tension as part of their medical repertoire, especially for headaches from crying. bluntly said, they know how to properly massage and uses this to further calm someone down or help them sleep.
07. perfect control over the strength of their grip. combined with their calm demeanor, the moon will never hurt someone on accident. and their heart coding would never allow them to hurt anyone on purpose ( not while they are themselves ). if their grip ever comes a little stronger than usual, it is a warning; a reprimand, reserved for adults and stubborn teens.
08. as a whole, the moon is a very physical creature, their hands especially. it is part of their language, from leisurely dismissing something with a wave or playfully wiggling their fingers. they do a lot of hair ruffling and light cheek pinching; lots of hugging especially.
