❝There’s something here that’s broken.❞
Ray was silent as she looked at the destruction before the two of them, her violet eyes watching the city burn away in bright flames of hate and rage. It had burned to the ground just a week ago, but it only felt like yesterday when a city that was so bright and so cheerful turned into a bloodthirsty arena.
All because of Zarc.
“Take a look around, Sora,” she muttered softly, turning her head to look at what was left of their sad excuse for a home – their hideout was the only form of escape from Zarc’s terror – before returning her gaze to the flames from Zarc’s destruction. “This whole world is broken.”
How could this have been what Zarc truly wanted? Did she just… not know him as well as she thought she did? They had something between them, didn’t they?
No. Maybe not.
“I want to fix it, but… I don’t know how.” She sighed, wiping away the tears that had threatened to roll down her pale cheeks. “The person who did this was supposed to be… someone special to me. I… I thought I was special to him, and even though I know he’s a monster and doing such horrible things… there’s a part of me that still wants him to have some good in him.
“… But I–… I don’t think that part of him is ever coming back.”
