I’m at that stage in my writing career where I am tired of mincing words and being delicate. Where I am over protecting any Christian audience I have from being offended, or keeping them comfortable.

I’m gonna write what I believe. I’m gonna look in the mirror at all the things I know I can improve on, stare all of my shortcomings in the eye, and put that on paper. I want to shock Christians, especially white Christians, out of their comfort zone.

We need boots on the ground. People are hurting, people are dying, and we’re at the top of the ferris wheel acting like things are fine because they’re fine for us, and I’m over it.

Hatred can only be defeated with love. Darkness can only be defeated by the light.

We went to a (queer, radical) poetry reading last night. One reader said she was nervous and asked us all to turn to the person next to us and say something nice. @hereeatthiskitten and I turned to each other and said, near simultaneously, "Fuck off". Friendship.
