omg. nati is a valid character. finally, i got to know at least something that makes sense about her. nati from carabanchel, who was maybe at most a year older than laura, who also had to work to support her family, who wanted to be an artist, oh those are just sketches, she’d never be able to sell them for a living... nati who was the only one to be able to see and appreciate the beauty in laura. surely they all saw it, but they weren’t sure how to handle it, weren’t ready, and that tip-toeing around her as if she had cancer or something... along with the misogyny... nati who wasn’t damn afraid of anything. of laura to begin with. the only one who could tell her to shut up. she understands her on a whole other level. all i ever wanted was to see you smile... it’s such a wonderful story full of light and lightness i can hardly believe it. it’s a story of creating yourself and creating the future, together. she’s very far from being romantic about it tho. she’s obstinate and resilient and so brave, and she gets what she wants, what she believes in, believes to be right. even if it doesn’t involve yelling at people and slapping faces. not the most prudent way to get anything done tbqh. causing more harm than good. of course she was in love with her. of course she wanted to help her heal. doesn’t work like that, sorry, but still... speaks volumes about her character.
