They’re not so good at holding a tangible form, but they can blow bubbles, so... there’s that!
Character drabbling under the cut
I think it’s possible that one of Neopia’s more famous spaceships-- maybe exploration, or citizen transport, or shipment-- was guided by a quick-witted and strategic captain, known for her penchant for success, despite her odds in a still-hostile field of work.
To this day, there’s still much talk of who-shot-who, with what, and why. All present at the mutiny in the control room died, disappeared, or are tight-lipped.
Life goes on. Very few people bring up the fact it’s hard to disappear on an enclosed ship. Those funerals were years ago.
In more recent news, some of the faculty have begun to express concern over an uncomfortably jiggly patch slime that’s been spotted in the lower deck. No hostile (or interesting) activity, as of yet, but a droid has been dispatched to analyze it.
Their behavior is mild, to say the least. This is a creature who spent years living deep in the architecture of the ship; inert, but regaining sentience at a painfully slow pace. They have recently begun to learn how to move in their amorphous form. Seeing them like the above pictures is actually rare, and possibly at a later point in their development.
They have only vague glimpses into their own mind, and what remains of their memory is disappointing. They don’t know their own identity. They barely even have the processing power to think about it.
For now, they seem perfectly content with exploration and innocent play.
Ahh, perhaps someday they’ll get their very own Protagonist, who can help them remember who they are, and they’ll have a nice little sci-fi story.

PS: I’ve decided ‘puiss’ is an onomatopoeia for one of the main sounds they make, since they’re otherwise incapable of speech.
