Okay so we're pretty positive that Asra and Apprentice were in a relationship pre-memory loss so i started thinking (sad.....angsty thoughts).
Can you imagine Asra seeing apprentice happy...in a relationship with someone other than him (julian/nadia). Having to see the one they loved with all his heart (that he most likely literally gave up) in another relationship because apprentice doesn't remember. He remembers all the times they kissed under the stars, all the shared laughs and meals, the carving in the tree. It stings everytime he sees apprentice/julian/nadia but he has to put on a happy face because he sees how happy they are.
Now imagine if or when apprentice remembers their prior relationship with Asra. Would it feel like betrayal(to asra)? How sorry would apprentice feel? Imagine how awkward it would be to see Asra again after that amd know he had to watch....
