Another book slid before him. A smile spread on his lips as he raised his face toward the latest fan. Her face was visible to him, though everything else was a dim darkness. “Who shall I make this out to?” he asked quietly, and he let his head drop again toward the table. Sliding the book closer, he plucked up his pen and opened the cover. Squinting, he scrawled her name and a quick ‘love, Kim Jaejoong,’ underneath. It was best to keep it short, otherwise his chances of messing up the words increased.
Most of his fans didn’t know about his condition, it wasn’t an advertisement he liked to make. Many figured it out when they saw him in person, but it wasn’t a subject he addressed often. With the final smile, he pushed the book toward the girl - not trusting himself to successfully hand it off. His agent whispered that she was the last, and he stood from his chair.
Quickly, he thanked the entire room and bookstore. It was uncomfortable to do a book signing so close to where he’d grown up, it all felt like a million years prior. He didn’t want to stay for longer than necessary, though he never wanted to appear disrespectful to his fans either. Gathering his things, he was able to escape in a shorter amount of time than he expected, and he let out a sigh of soft relief as he managed his way out of the bookstore. It was a little easier to see in the light of day opposed to the dim bookstore, though it was futile to seek much relief.
