he still has no idea what will become of that audition he did for superstar ktworld and it won’t exactly upset him if he doesn’t get it. he did it for the sake of experience, hopefully some money, and exposure that could lead to a new and better contract than the one he previously got. musically-wise, kt isn’t exactly the company he would go for, but they have a lot of connections with drama producers. it could be good for him in the long run.

one good thing that came out of the process, no matter the result, is definitely his meeting with jinhee. he played it safe at first, not wanting to completely embarrass himself if he had the wrong person. she still looks very much the same, though, so once he confirmed her identity he easily opened up. they didn’t have a lot of time to catch up, however, but they exchanged contacts hoping to do it another day.

he called her a few days after, asking if she’d be willing to get coffee soon, which led to today. he’s waiting by the entrance, not too nervous but not completely at ease either. he’s someone who usually avoids talking to people he hasn’t seen in a long time and it’s not at all because he doesn’t want to hear from them. but depending on who it is and how much time has passed, conversations can be awkward, and jinyoung tends to worry too much about what they’ll think of him. jinhee remembers him as the shy but cute teenager who tagged alongside yien back in their high school days. and he’s not that kid anymore.

“noona,” he calls out of habit. it might have been years since they’ve really been friends but it comes out naturally and jinyoung decides to let it flow. “thank you for coming. i felt like we didn’t have much time to talk last time. do you want to grab something to go and walk outside a bit?” for the first time in a while the weather is nice and his doctor clearly advised him to get more sunlight.
