Long shifts that ended in the early morning always called for breakfast at Cee’s. She could already taste the coffee and eggs as she walked through the door, her stomach growling as soon as the familiar smell hit her nose. Scrolling aimlessly through her phone as she waited for her order, she pushed it aside the moment her plate was placed in front of her, shoveling the eggs into her mouth in the least graceful manner. The speed caused her to choke, coughing up a small piece of egg onto the table in front of her.
Sheepishly, she looked up to see someone standing in front of her table. “Please tell me you didn’t see that.”
