@strange-lestrange
Nine years old and Sirius was surprised that his father had allowed him to use wand. Sirius had never asked before, but then, Sirius never really asked for anything. Still, Bellatrix was meant to be teaching him to duel, and as nervous as he was about using a wand for the first time, he was excited. He knew that underaged wizards weren’t use magic outside of school, and more importantly, he wasn’t even old enough to have his own wand yet, there was something entirely exciting about being able to break that rule, even if it was with his parents permission. Sirius knew of course that Bellatrix was brilliant at magic, as he had heard the conversation his parents had about letting her teach him to duel. Knowing that he was expected to be a strong dueller one day, Sirius was hoping that he wouldn’t disappoint today. Sure it was only his first lesson, but somehow he thought his parents might not care about that fact. The back yard was spacious, and outside the garden there was ample room for them to practice, and Sirius sat out there with his back straight and one hand wrapped around his wand and the other around his glass of water. Hearing his cousin’s voice before he saw her, Sirius turned and gave her a nervous smile, “Hi, Bella.”
