     “  looks like things are coming along pretty good, huh peedee?  ”   fryman observed the new window that they’d had installed to what had PREVIOUSLY been the mayor mobile with some pride. when peedee had come to him with the suggestion of opening a food truck, he’d initially been skeptical, but.. well, he’d come around pretty quickly. peedee wanted to expand the business, try something new! he was PROUD of that. so, he’d put in the work to help him out. 

    “  what kind of paint are we going for? white?  ”   he gestured to the large mayor-head on top of the van, a grimace painting his expression.  “  and what should we do with.. that thing?  ”

"Dad, I'm gay." ( this came to me srry )

     peedee’s voice caught him off-guard, and fryman paused as he lifted a fresh batch of fries out of the fryer, mulling on his announcement in some surprise. huh. he didn’t respond for a moment, making sure to turn off the fryer before he turned, wiping his hands on his apron.

    bending down on one knee in front of his son, fryman observed him for a moment, gently resting a hand upon his shoulder, his eyes searching the face of his youngest. they’d.. come a long way. he knew he wasn’t always the best at listening to his boys or even expressing how he felt, but he loved them – completely and whole-heartedly. nothing would ever change that. 

   “  you’re my son,  ”   he said after a moment, before he moved his hand, mussing up his hair, a ghost of a smile visible on his lips.   “  – you’re a fryman, through and through. thanks for telling me, peedee. for trustin’ me. i’m always proud of you.. heh, always have been. that isn’t changin’ any time soon.  ”
