The Orange Side Represents Procrastination

This is a theory I’ve believed for ages and originally found a smaller version of somewhere online and I tried so hard to find so I could give credit for my original interest in this perspective but I didn’t manage to find anything even remotely similar to what I think so I have no idea what I saw if you do please let me know! I’ve expanded a lot on the original premise a lot here so this is mostly just me.

I’m sharing now because I want my bragging rights when I’m proven correct. And be real, as long as the sides almost make up a rainbow lets face it- it COULD be gayer, and I just don’t think Thomathy would do that to us. But that’s beside the point.

NOW ONTO TO SHOW

First of all we all know the sides are like inverses of each other (Patton and Janus, Roman and Remus). They’re the good and bad sides of the same coin as Character Thomas sees them. Originally I gotta say I was a fan of the idea Virgil was Logan’s respective inverse but I don’t think that’s true and here’s why.

“Because I was one of them.”

Virgil was a dark side and now he’s a light side. I think he’s his own inverse. And when you think about his arc and AA how anxiety is shown as something that can be both good and bad (at least for Character Thomas) it makes sense to think about it that way. He’s the wild card.

That leaves the question; who’s Logan’s inverse? WELL IM GLAD YOU ASKED.

No one really seems to have any doubt that the Orange side exists at this point Mr 01134 we see you there. I think the fandom overall actually missed a crucial hint about his character with that text stay tuned to see why.

Let’s start with the bit I remember seeing in the post that originally got me invested in this. This is the only part that I didn’t piece together personally.

This has been the pattern on the background of the intro since Fitting In (or the start of season 2 if we’re thinking that way).

But what are those symbols and what do they represent? Thanks for asking I’d love to tell you. They represent the dark sides. Bold claim, Dee. I know I know. But here me out. The X is Virgil because he’s missing from the Dark Sides. The scales are Janus because he was “bad justice” or “bad morals” and the inverse to Patton and I mean we DID get the whole court room scenario what more proof do you need? The crown(? Dude I have to be honest I’ve started at this for ages and I cant decide if it’s a crown or a theatre or im just an idiot??) is Remus or “bad creativity” and the inverse of Roman. Last but not least, the graduation cap. Logan’s inverse. What do you think of when you picture a “bad student”? Someone who’s lazy? Unproductive? Lacks motivation?

Moving right on from the original stuff. In Losing My Motivation Logan is seen to very obviously dislike Thomas’ lack of motivation but that’s not much on it’s own. How about in Why Do We Get Out of Bed in the Morning when we see the SECOND ENTIRE VIDEO where Logan struggles to make Thomas be productive?

Speaking of that episode our favourite slimey boy shows up which may seem like no big deal but I think it’s actually a big hint.

God I love Janus

He shows up right at the start as Thomas is denying his procrastination. Kind of odd the guy with a bit of a history of keeping the existence of certain sides a secret would show up at that moment don’t you think?

In this video Logan (and Roman) is tackling Thomas’ motivation issues for the second time but why? Why wasn’t it resolved on the first try? Maybe because they never confronted the side responsible. The one Janus is totally hiding.

Getting to the most recent vid (which btw OW) people have already pointed out the text saying “01134”

But no one’s really talked or even though (from what I’ve seen) about the significance of the scenario we see it pop up in.

“maybe time spent serving up knuckle sandwiches to bad guys in a video game could maybe be better spent serving up soup and sandwiches to the hungry in a local shelter”

It’s Patton’s example for time badly spent. Time where Thomas could/should be doing something better. Video games are one of Thomas’ go-to’s for a non-productive pass time. Why should orange show up here? Why put 01134 in this specific scene and not elsewhere?
