Deep Fir Swamp (#182601 to #012122)
Bump documentation 😁
I realized I haven’t taken selfies or full body photos in quite a while, so here’s my just-shy-of-19-weeks bump. It feels like I’m showing so, SO much earlier than my first pregnancy. I feel so huge already, and I’m only halfway there! That being said, I’ve only gained 5lbs so far, so I’ll definitely take that. (Also, how?! I’m eating everything in sight.)
Swamp Gulf Blue (#012122 to #04205c)
It’s been a pretty smooth week over here - some good nights of sleep, which have been so great. Although it’s 4am right now and my kiddo is wide awake. B usually gets up with pep on week days to make sure I can get enough sleep, and bless him for that. Seriously.
We’ve been playing with all of the new toys pep got for his birthday, and this toy camper seems to be a big hit. I picked it out and my parents got it for him. It comes with lots of cute little toys, including this shishkabob thing, which has 4 little “foods” that snap onto a skewer. One of the foods is a little green bell pepper, and he carries that thing everywhere he goes. It only hit me the other day how funny that is, that he favors the pepper.
I also had been talking briefly about the birthday cakes — here are some screenshots from the company’s website. We got a tiny NY blackout cake for pep to smash, though he ended up smashing a piece and not the whole cake because we wanted to try some. 😂 It’s basically the chocolatiest cake ever, and super moist because it’s made with pudding. But somehow it’s still kinda subtle? We also got a tiny carrot cake intending that to be for the adults - us and my parents - and DAMN. This is genuinely the best carrot cake I have ever had, hands down. So moist (how do they get it so moist?? also, ew, stop saying moist.) and with so much texture - big chunks of nuts and raisins and long shreds of carrot. Anyhow, I digress. Pregnant me LOVES cake, I guess.
Friends of ours just had a baby in December and I put this baby blanket in the mail for them a few days ago. I had already made the blanket, just had to do the border, and it just happened to work out that I had a blue one 90% of the way finished and they happened to have a boy. I’m excited to hear from them once it arrives. I love gifting handmade stuff!
A little “me” update: I had my first therapy session yesterday. I was a bit nervous or apprehensive going into it, not knowing what to expect, but it was really just a conversation. Surface-level mostly. I told her I was pregnant and she was so surprised — I had figured she would have read my patient file since she’s kinda an extension of my obgyn?? Who knows. The therapist asked a lot of questions and I answered them.. at the end, I didn’t really have many questions for her, but I guess that’s fine. The only thing I think I would wanna change about therapy at the outset is that it’s such a one-way conversation. I know nothing about this person, but I guess that’s how it’s supposed to be. I keep getting mentally ahead of myself wondering how this is going to benefit me longer term, but I’ve just gotta be patient and go with the flow. We’re set up for sessions every Thursday for now, so we’ll see how it goes.
You can't just straight up say to a married man that "i have a crush on you." Am i right or am i correct?
