Please don’t throw out the things I got you. Please. Keep the sweaters and scarves. Keep the shoes and wear them. Play the video games. Save the friendship necklace we shared. Cuddle with the stuffed animals that I got you. Wear that sweater that was mine that’s now yours. Keep the moments. Keep the memories to the end of time. Hold on to the self-assurance and confidence I built for you diligently. Keep these things is all I ask. Don’t throw it away, like you did me. Hold these things for a lifetime and carry them to the next one. So even though I’m gone, out with the garbage, you’ve still silently kept me somehow away from the world.
