02.09.16, Frankfurt, Germany
German cities seemed to be well partitioned. There were areas that were a bit frightful, like most cities, and then there were portions that were clean, sparkling, perfect. As if they had been made for or by gods of white and silver architecture, gods of curved glass and modern design. The buildings in the sparkling business side of Frankfurt were spired and glittering, silver in the bright sun and summer heat, home to many crowds that were shopping around for all manner of gifts and purchases, bright cloths and jewels, food and teas, spices and specialty items. The streets were wide enough to accommodate large amounts of people without feeling overly choked. The shops carried variety, the skyscrapers of business cubicles often melded with shopping centers in unexpected ways, in a way that made financial districts, businesses and the regular folk that frequented the shopping centers and districts meld together in a cohesive consumerist society. Even in Frankfurt, not much seemed to be old, and in that way it was much like other German cities. They were recovered from the past, but were still stand out for the fact that there was not much of the old country left in the larger city. Economy was the legacy of the bright towers of Frankfurt. If one followed the streets, they soon came upon a darker part of the city. However, even the worse parts of town in Frankfurt were still rather well maintained, with less refuse littering the streets than many other cities than was common for a thickly populated city. The people also seemed to keep to themselves for the most part. The populace had a businesslike demeanor that reflected the city well. The tourists were also fairly easy to spot; they were the ones that often held their mouths agape and spoke loudly, while the denizens of Frankfurt seemed to prefer to keep their mouths shut, no matter what part of the city they were in.
