Born from a family who contributed to the inception of the bossa nova movement, Nana Caymmi is a well-known living bossa nova singer. She has an extensive discography && is known for her deep involvement in protest songs over thirty years ago. 

This piece is written by one of Brazil’s greatest songwriters, Roberto Carlos. Nana Caymmi performs this song with Erasmo Carlos who is a longtime friend && collaborator of Roberto Carlos. The lyrics are forlorn, reminding a past lover to never forget their affair. The singer continually hopes that they are never forgotten. If anything, they hope to never leave their thoughts. 

Fun fact: In the Brazilian telenovela “Caminho das Índias,” both Nany Caymmi && Erasmo Carlos perform the song as part of the narrative acting as themselves.
