Wurmple uses its spiked rear end to peel the bark off of trees to feed on the sap or the tree or to tear leaves apart to feed on them.

Wurmple feet have suctions pads on the tips, allowing them to cling to grass without slippage.

Swellow love to eat Wurmple, and to defend themselves Wurmple uses its tail spikes.

When attacked, Wurmple raises its spiked read end and releases poison from the tips of the spikes.

Wurmple spits a white thread from its mouth that becomes gooey and sticky when it comes into contact with air, thereby slowing or immobilizing opponents that touch the thread.
