Sharpedo have many nicknames: "The Bully of the Sea," "The Ruffian of the Seas," "The Vicious and Sly Gangster of the Sea," and "The Bandit of the Sea" are just a few.

Sharpedo's fangs grow back immediately should they snap off, and people believe that carrying one of these snapped off fangs will prevent them from having mishaps at sea.

Sharpedo can easily crunch through iron, capable of tearing apart a supertanker easily.

Should Sharpedo smell a whiff of blood, they will drink large amounts of sea water extremely quickly and then jet the seawater from their backside, and their smooth skin allows them to reduce drag in water to get up to 75 mph (though they cannot move quickly over long distances).

In the past, Sharpedo dorsal fins were treated as fine dining, so they were a victim of overfishing.
