Husband got called into work so I took his new friend home earlier than planned. Still had a nice time though.

Drove husband to work
Laid in agony for a couple hours
Picked up a couple friends so they could do laundry in my basement
Girlfriend drove me to work so she could pick husband up after (balloons and static electricity for stem, had them run around the track for gym time.)
Immediately fell asleep when I got home, which is why it is now 1:25 in the morning as I'm writing this. I hate throwing off my sleep schedule. This is why I don't take naps.

For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
PRAY LIKE THIS
Prayer is simply an honest, ongoing conversation with God.
Jesus tells us that God knows what we need, but He still wants us to come and tell Him what's on our minds. He's a good Father who cares for us and He wants to speak into our circumstances, comfort our hearts, and shape our perspectives.
He loves giving good gifts to His children-gifts they want, long for, and ask for. But sometimes, what we want isn't actually good for us. When Jesus says in Matthew 7:8. He isn't saying that we will get everything we ask for…
God cannot and will not give us anything that contradicts His character. God will only give us what is good, and sometimes a "no" from God is the response we actually need. But He still wants us to bring Him all our desires, and if we ask for anything that aligns with His will, He hears us.
So how do we discover God's will?
We spend time with Him.
SHARE YOUR FAITH
Keep asking God to soften hearts. Keep seeking direction and wisdom. Keep knocking and praying and expecting Him to move. Don't just worry about your friends who don't know Christ-pray for them. And share God's love with them.
God, I'm so grateful I can come to You with any situation, knowing that You'll hear me. Today, I come to You with my questions, my concerns, and my plans for the future. Please help me to listen to Your voice and trust Your direction. Use me to point others to You! in Jesus' name, Amen.
God, You are good and Your mercy endures forever! There is no one like You. When I consider all that You have done-Your great power but also Your great restraint-I am overwhelmed. You are so kind to us, and You never fail or give up on us. Thank You. Align my heart with Yours today so that way I can give you the glory You deserve! In Jesus' name, Amen.

Even when you go through hard times-God is with you.
Close your eyes and ask God to show you where He was in a recent difficult situation.
When you're ready, bring your requests to God.

Breath in and as you exhale, say: "Praise the Lord!"
Spend a dew moments thanking God for the time you've spent with Him, and give Him whatever praise comes to mind.

Zelophehad, a descendant of Hepher son of Gilead, son of Makir, son of Manasseh, had no sons. He had only daughters, whose names were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. 4These women came to Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the Israelite leaders and said, “The Lord commanded Moses to give us a grant of land along with the men of our tribe.” As a result, Manasseh’s total allocation came to ten parcels of land, in addition to the land of Gilead and Bashan across the Jordan River, 6because the female descendants of Manasseh received a grant of land along with the male descendants. THE ISRAELITES DEFEAT AI
Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take all your fighting men and attack Ai, for I have given you the king of Ai, his people, his town, and his land.
Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Point the spear in your hand toward Ai, for I will hand the town over to you.” Joshua did as he was commanded. 19As soon as Joshua gave this signal, all the men in ambush jumped up from their position and poured into the town. They quickly captured it and set it on fire.
When the Israelite army finished chasing and killing all the men of Ai in the open fields, they went back and finished off everyone inside. 25So the entire population of Ai, including men and women, was wiped out that day—12,000 in all. 26For Joshua kept holding out his spear until everyone who had lived in Ai was completely destroyed. 27Only the livestock and the treasures of the town were not destroyed, for the Israelites kept these as plunder for themselves, as the Lord had commanded Joshua.
INSIGHT
In the Bible, God has given us physical reminders of His love and grace. As the Israelites faced the challenges of the wilderness journey, “by day [God] led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire” (Nehemiah 9:12). Joshua’s holding out his spear reminded the Israelites God was leading them in battle (Joshua 8:18, 26). In the New Testament, Thomas refused to believe that Jesus was alive until he saw and touched His crucifixion wounds (John 20:24-29). The Lord’s Supper helps us remember Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). In our journey of faith, these physical reminders assure us that God is with us “always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

REMINDER OF GOD'S PRESENCE
With branches of scraggly leaves growing upward like hands raised to the heavens, the unique trees we saw while hiking Joshua Tree National Park in California intrigued us. Many believe the trees were dubbed “Joshua Trees” by pioneers, who were reminded by the trees of an Old Testament story where Joshua lifted high a javelin as a sign of God’s presence and help.
After entering Canaan, the Israelites needed God’s help in battle. After being defeated at the city of Ai due to their sin (Joshua 7:11-12), the Israelites were likely afraid to fight the city again. But God encouraged Joshua, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (8:1). Then God told Joshua to “hold out toward Ai the javelin that is in your hand, for into your hand I will deliver the city” (v. 18). Joshua obeyed God and “did not draw back the hand that held out his javelin” until the battle was won (v. 26). It wasn’t the javelin in Joshua’s outstretched hand that secured the victory. Instead, it was a symbol of God’s promise to help them and be with them.
Reminders of God’s presence with us can be helpful when we face difficult challenges. A Bible verse displayed in our homes, a stunning picture of God’s creation, a cross necklace: These things don’t provide assistance, but God can use them to remind us of His promised presence and power.

REFLECT AND PRAY
What reminds you of God’s presence? How does this reminder help you face challenging situations?
Heavenly Father, in the challenges I face today, please help me to remember Your presence with me. in Jesus' name, Amen.
THE GOSPEL OF JOHN
SAVED AND SECURE
Notice who may come: "If anyone enters…" The door is open to everyone. Jesus never offered exclusive invites. He said, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink." and "Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden." This is no double-decker Airbus with first-class suites, plasma TVs, and a $7,000 round-trip ticket price. Christ's desire is for all to come to Him. Whatever rank, age, or sex you are—of however deep a dye your sins may be—you are invited to enter in.
Once that invitation is accepted, we see the result in verse 28 of today's passage: "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." This verse speaks to the security of the believer and flies in the face of what has been called "losing your salvation." There are plenty of things that get lost: that matching sock, your car keys, your wallet. Once I searched my office for probably an hour for sunglasses that were on my head. I read about a guy in Germany who forgot where he had put his car until police officers contacted him to tell him he'd left it at a gas station pump. But Jesus shows that no one has ever lost their salvation. What is possible is someone who never had it in the first place.
Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven. As we learned earlier, the proof of the Christian is in the living. 2 Peter 2:22 (NLT) says, "A washed pig returns to the mud." That's not to say a Christian won't fall into the mud—but he will get back up. You can tell if you are one of God's sheep by whether or not you follow Him, and once inside his fold, you can rest in the security of your salvation. "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).
Remember: When you accept Christ's invitation, you can rest in the security of your salvation.

THE GOOD SHEPHERD AND HIS SHEEP
the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep. one flock with one shepherd. No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily.
JESUS CLAIMS TO BE THE SON OF GOD
The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name. 26But you don’t believe me because you are not my sheep. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, if those people who received God’s message were called ‘gods,’ 36why do you call it blasphemy when I say, ‘I am the Son of God’? After all, the Father set me apart and sent me into the world. if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”
