They stood on high, far and away from the cobblestone streets that crumbled beneath one’s feet. Arjuna had plucked the boy with such ease that one would almost think he was weightless, and it had admittedly felt good to be of use and to be present during such a turbulent time. Yes --things were hectic and dark, but Arjuna would remain steadfast in the face of so many unknowns. He was, after all, merely grateful to have the privilege of serving one that trusted him so dearly.
Still, it was truly a sight to behold. Like the blackest marble, a void of unknown placed neatly in the sky as if it had always been there, eerie and silent. He stood in front of his young Master in order to shield him from the sight with his cape, lips forming a thin line at the disturbance. “I see... -- I suppose it goes without saying that this is surely a sign of some foreboding... though whatever it may be, I apologize. I’m unable to determine the cause of the coming storm myself. Though whatever fate may befall us, rest assured... you have me at your side to brave the turbulent times with you.” And though his tone was soft, that confidence was as firm as ever. It always sounded like nothing would deter him.
“Still, I wonder... Master, have you noticed anything strange? Maybe something less obvious.” Perhaps it was futile to ask, but courtesy came to mind.
