Listened to the leaked album last week, wasn’t feeling it. Listening to the higher quality official release, and I kinda like it? I agree with a lot of the critics in that it feels like a compilation album the Gorillaz sometimes appear on, as opposed to a Gorillaz record with occasional collaborators. I hope it clicks for me, been way too long for this album to be dud. Charger might be my favorite track. The scratching guitar and ‘cha-cha-ger’ refrains just latch onto my brain and never let go. Uggggh, I just don’t know, this doesn’t feel like a cohesive album, not like Demon Days and Plastic Beach feel. But I want to like it.

Another wonderful windy day in the books!

We are nearing the end of the month already. Dang, that was quick. I am still happy, if not more happy than yesterday. So, today this is the song because I’m happy, just fkn happy.

Pharrell is a brilliant artist. I heard of him when he came out with Neptunes back in middle school with their hit “Frontin.” I know he’s done some work as N.E.R.D. && recently solo but yeah, he’s pretty dope. I know I usually write or give some details about artists but I’m too happy && full of myself. No shame in that. But, I do urge you to listen to Pharell. Frankly one of my fav songs of his (with N.E.R.D.) is “Maybe.” The lyrics are soooo lovely && the sound && his voice!!!!! Especially that lovely falsetto at the end!!!! “and now she’s gone! gone, gone! goooooone....”aaaaahhh!!!

Fun fact: Not so much as fun but eerie, I heard a few years back that this girl was tweeting or something that she “was happy” while noting that she was listening to this song && because she was on her phone while driving, she crashed && died. Eerie.
