Lunar

When you look up the word “Lunar” on google the definition it gives you is, “of, determined by, relating to, or resembling the moon”. Resembling the moon. What resembles the moon? The streetlamps reflection on the building across the street from mine resembles the moon, a golden first quarter moon, keeping me company when I can’t fall asleep. The coffee stain on the bottom of my mug after I finish drinking it all, that resembles the moon, a Maxwell House waning crescent. The feeling that I get when I think about you, it’s the same feeling that I get when I look at the moon, it’s comfortable, and a little sad. Something precious and out of my reach. I never take the time to look at the moon anymore. I used to, when I was younger I thought it was the most magical thing that could possibly exist. Then I grew up and I looked at the moon less. Do you think the moon will forgive me, for mistreating her all of these years? Is it enough that I see her in everything around me? I’ll take the time to look at her more from now on, that’s the way it should be. Lunar, it is the streetlamps, my coffee, you, and it is everything. Lunar, a reliable companion. Sometimes

Sometimes i feel like we're still in tune 2 harmonies in the right key Remember all the chemistry we had in High School passing notes "can you circle yes or no if you like me"/

Sometimes, Even though I know you won't answer I still try to text you just to say "Hey, I messed up and I miss what we had." Then the next morning realize what I did, and that sending that text probably just made you mad/ You probably told your new dude "this guy Dane got it bad"/ Like usher, take the memories and let it burn, put the ashes in and urn and just forget about it/ Sometimes I have the sweetest nightmares, because you were in it Can't go back to sleep because now all i can imagine is a future with a little you, a mirror image Sometimes I look to the sky with the stars and the moon and have this feeling that maybe, you're looking at that same view too And if you are, and you can hear me I hope one day we meet again, until then i wish you nothing the best I'll take these midnight views as a blessing because it's the closest I can get to you yet/ ----- THEME: LUNAR AUGUST 2018  artist: Dane Amar medium: Poem description: n/a

title: Lunar artist: Alann Herrera medium: Photography description: When Chrystal, Marco and I drove 2+ hours out to this location I would’ve never expected to walk away with just these two images. We originally planned to take landscapes and after struggling to find the location we were pretty set on going home but what I’ve always loved about photography is that it rewards spontaneity. We pulled over on the side of the road and just started seeing what we could capture. What I believed was gonna become a bad shoot ended up resulting in some of my favorite images that I’ve taken.
