EoS is still sorta acting up, but after a few tries, I managed to log in and played a teeny bit with my icemage. Created the guardian I’d created during closed beta but haven’t played with her yet. I’m still very attached to my little icemage.
Leveled up and had to team up with some other players to kill another party monster because it killed me when I attempted to take it on alone. It was a giant golem. Killed me in one hit. I was just, “WTF!!”
Then while I was killing wolves for a quest, the guy I’d seen just standing near the general merchant (I assumed he was afk), while I talked with the NPC who gave me the quest, decided to target the wolf I was killing and attacked it. Idk if he did it accidentally or thought I needed help, but tbh while it pissed me off, I wasn’t really surprised. Because even while I was talking to the NPC and I noticed the guy there, I thought to myself, “I wonder when this guy’s gonna run in and ‘help’ me fight a monster because I’m tiny.” And bam! It happened. It was kinda weird because I sorta expected it, but I didn’t?? So when it did happen, I was just, “I shouldn’t have even said a thing...” lol
But I did say “dude” to him and he apologized. Things like that haven’t happened too much on EoS to the point where I’m rude to people and tell them to fuck off. So I’m still a bit polite by just saying dude.
Then I did Mettle’s Theater, and wowie did I have a terrible team. Like, seriously. I don’t think anyone knew what the fuck they were doing or supposed to do. Everyone stuck together, which was good during a few parts of the game where we were having a pretty good time retaking the towers. We were way behind the other team, but we had good moments like those. Except when those moments were disrupted and everyone was busy fighting and trying to kill the enemy so the enemy managed to retake the towers we’d taken back. But still, there were some afk players just sitting or standing around doing nothing.
When I revived at the base in the middle of the map, I saw another player just sitting on her mount facing the path that led to one of the towers where a few teammates were fighting off quite a few enemy players and I was just, “why the fuck are you just sitting there???” So I told her to go and jumped down to help the teammate. Even if it wound up killing you, there’s no fucking reason to sit back from attacking the enemy! There are definitely times when retreat is the best answer, but more often than not, fighting the enemy and distracting them so someone can sneak over and take the tower is better than just sitting around because “oh, I might die.” You’ll revive, so there’s no worry there!
Idk. We were all just very not in sync this game. Maybe my team did consist of new players who had just joined, idk, but we did terribly. I got ganged up a lot of times. And what pisses me off sometimes is the fact that even when you’re retreating, the fucking enemy won’t let you go! I got chased down by a warrior and a guardian even as I was running away from them. They wouldn’t let me go! It was my fault, though, thinking I could take a tower before an enemy got to me. And it was a tower next to the enemy’s base, which was worse. Cos when they die, that’s where they spawn. And I had no backup.
I had to quit playing, though, because I did get pretty pissed. And I’m very easily pissed off currently so had to take a step back and just quit playing.
Really, when you feel yourself getting too angry that playing the game doesn’t ease your anger, you should take a step back, get off, do something else, and come back to it when you’re feeling better. Cos these games should bring joy and not anger.
Sorry, just kinda giving myself a little speech so I remember to stop playing when I get too pissed. Though sometimes continuing to play can ease the anger so there’s that too.
Ah, it was pretty uninteresting day in EoS. It needs to stop having log in problems, though. Get yourself together please, EoS.
