Song of the Day
I need this swelling to go down... I really hate the sensitivity. Oh well. Ok for today, I’m still saddened && worried for all those victims that have yet to be discovered. Many are still stuck under the debris─children, adults && third-generation adults. Please keep Mexico in your prayers/thoughts.
For today, in honor of my beautiful Mexican theme, I want to share this song by a very famous group, Los Tigres del Norte, which I affectionately call The Tigers of the North. ha! Anyhow, they’re known for talking about immigration, drug trafficking, family dynamics etc... This song is about the pride of being Mexican. I really haven’t met a culture that is so fkn proud of their flag. Well, I just feel that as an American, I don’t feel the passion && love that I feel when I look at the Mexican when I look at an American flag. I have always identified as a Mexican. I love California. I fkn love my city of LA. However, I would choose Mexico any day. Chicanos struggle with identity && patriotism. I’m one of them... I guess?
Enjoy.
“Thank you for the memories.”
