At first I thought it was one of the workers of Caligo’s house, because they often see the way Caligo would treat him and one of them was compassionate enough. Then I thought about the voice appearing and disappearing and I was sure it was Gentiana because of that trait, but then I re read and it was “a familiar voice” and the ending with Ardyn laughing at Caligo so I was like OH.
