0mnibus Update Fin.
Finished my 2015 reading challenge of reading certain 46 books I own- with four books left to read. In this sense I “failed”, but because I read 36 books I do not own in a way I greatly exceeded my goal :) & I finished this year with having read 78 books total.
Keep Sweet Quotes: (Time to delve into the lives of the Mormon religion.)
“Raising up a righteous seed unto the Lord is a woman’s highest calling and it is only through a husband’s guidance that a woman can attain entry into the celestial kingdom.” pg 11
“In my new, crisp undergarment, I felt safe, knowing I was protected from bullets, fire, knives, and all manner of evil-and more importantly, from Satan, the destroyer.” pg 39
“I looked at my reflection in the mirror. My cycle had begun. I was now a woman. I was ready to do God’s work.” pg 56
“It was easy to believe when everything was good. But when bad things happened, doubt sowed its seed in fertile soil and burrowed deep. It was my duty to root it out.” pg 84
Wandering Unicorn Quotes:
“As for denying the existence of fairies, good and bad, you have to be blind not to see them. They are everywhere…The wealthy, spendthrift ones squander fortunes in Venice or Monte Carlo: fabulous, ageless women whose birthdays and incomes and origins nobody knows, putting charms on roulette wheels for the dubious pleasure of seeing the same number come up more often than it ought…Others spend the hours of darkness hanging their apartments in Paris or New York with Gothic tapestries…kept hidden away in massive chests beneath deserted abbeys and castles since their own belle epoque in the Middle Ages. Some stick to their original line of country, agitating tables at seances or organizing the excitement in haunted houses…Now wrinkled with age, the amorous ones contrive to lure young men on the make who, immaculately tailored and bedecked with baubles from Cartier, escort them through the vestibules of international hotels. Yet other fairies, more studious and respectable, devote themselves to science, whirring and breathing above tired inventors and inspiring original ideas..And so it goes on-all sorts and conditions of fairies…unnoticed on the impercipient earth. And I am one of them.” pg 3-4

0mnibus Update 4
“Tonight was a perfect illustration of why Cinderella and the Prince get married twenty-four hours after they meet. Because when you’re living with your stepmother, there is no happily ever after.”-Kantor
Read Where’s My Prince in a single day, even though it took 80% of the book before revealing the obvious plot twist, it was still a nice change of pace! 5/5 stars.

0mnibus Update 3
It’s been really interesting reading books I wanted to read back in middle school now. It’s much easier to see the cliques and guess the plot twists, but oddly they were still a lot of fun to read.

Finally reached the 1,000 page mark! 4/11 books finished
0mnibus Update 2
Spent yesterday finishing The Mythology of SPN and also managed to get through more than half of Generation Dead. Here’s my notes on Myths of SPN:
Pg. 41 “…[Moses] was found and adopted by the wife of the pharaoh.” ya no, he was adopted by the pharaoh’s daughter!
Pg. 88-89 “At some point, someone somewhere…claimed there was an angel Castiel…who was an angel of Thursday…so many people now believe it that it’s almost come to be seen as fact.” In s6ep20 Crowley refers to Castiel as “The Angel of Thursday”. The last ep Waters referenced was s6 ep7)
Pg. 213 “…Cain refuses to take responsibility for his brother (or anything else)" (s9ep11"Abel wasn’t talking to God. He was talking to Lucifer…so I offered a deal — Abel’s soul in Heaven for my soul in Hell. Lucifer accepted… as long as I was the one who sent Abel to Heaven. So, I killed him…”-Cain)
3/5: It was an okay read, but most spn lore doesn’t hold up over the years.
