Why are we using cis faceclaims for trans characters
wasn't going to answer this at first, but because it's a sentiment i've received before, i think i'm going to just to make my stance crystal clear on this.
i love using trans fcs. i have a couple, like elliot fletcher as axel for example, avan jogia is nonbinary and i play jay, who is also nonbinary. i'm working on a nicole maines. if you have suggestions, i'm all ears. but let's not pretend like trans fcs are equally represented and giffed. let's really not. in any case, this is not like, the same as a cis actor playing a trans role in a movie. no one is getting paid. no real trans person lost a job. my oc's are like barbie dolls, at best, and you are so, so easily able to just block me if it bothers you that much. if i ever made a story of them, if they ever really got cast in a movie, obviously they'd be played by a real trans person. but that's not what's happening. if you wanna rec me trans fcs, go for it. i'd love to hear 'em, and if they have resources, are well known, and i have an idea for that face, i'll use the fuck out of them.
i am a real trans person with real feelings. please remember that. you did not have to be so rude.
i just counted how many characters of mine are nonbinary / trans ... 19. and that's assuming i didn't miss one. do you expect me to just write a thousand cis people? i prefer writing trans people. i just do. that's why. if you're a stranger, i feel like you could've just blocked and moved on. if you're a mutual, i really would've expected enough respect to be asked politely why i do something the way i do it, so go ahead and block me so we're both saved.
