So, I submitted my referral form to the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), using the form on their website, and apparently there's an evaluation period to determine your eligibility. This can take up to 60 days! I'm told that the process can be expedited if you have your medical records with you when they make their first appointment with you. Honestly, I may just let them retrieve those because... I have seen my medical records and nobody wants to be hauling that much chaos around. I'll use the extra time to keep chiseling away at the secondary project.
Once I have the information offered by the DVR, I also plan on hiring a lawyer who specializes in business and government benefits to tell me what DVR might not, given that it is a government agency. That will be expensive, but worth it, especially if what I learn helps anybody reading this.
