thirty days of character development // 016
Are there any blood relatives that your character is particularly close with, besides the immediate ones? Cousins, Uncles, Grandfathers, Aunts, et cetera. Are there any others that your character practically considers a blood relative?
Growing up, there were three people whom Hestia had loved unconditionally and adoringly: her parents and her grandmother, Marie Jones, whom she'd been named for. Her grandmum, or as Hestia called her, Gran, had been a great influence on her upbringing. Theodore was her only soon, and Hestia her only grandchild, so Gran doted on the little girl. They all lived together in their little house by the sea. Gran had taught Hestia how to read and to listen to stories and to appreciate even the little things. She is very dear to Hestia's heart.
There is a person close enough to Hestia for her to consider him almost-family: Alastor Moody. She cares about him deeply and takes care of him the best that she can. Ever since they moved in together, he's mattered to Hestia even more. She's grown used to their little routines. He worries her a lot because life without him is now almost inconcievable.
