If I ignore the bits about being blind and focus on the bits about being adored this whole thing reminds me of Juliette Drouet. This long rant reads so personal that I wonder if Hugo ever experienced temporary blindness.
And what happened to Baptistine after her brother's death? If "she cannot do without you," what will she do when you're gone? It's perhaps fortunate that Juliette died before Hugo did. What if it's the other way around?
