Stevie's idea: make Laura all punk-girly, make Stevie all punk dude, get some make-up done, some hair, hit up some industrial-type spot, make us some photos. I believe the mandate was "gay as fuck." (It didn't end up that way, but it's always good to have a jumping off point. Gay as Fuck is as good as any!)

So we got Laura's sister, Lindi, to do the hair. Lindi's friend, Katie, to do the make-up.

The ladies worked out some clothes to wear, and we sat in my house for a few hours while it all got put together, talking about boobs and bad make-up artists and good make-up artists and The Runaways and famous lesbians, the new Polaroid camera (I'll probably buy one, yes), dating, why so and so hung out with so and so.

Then it was time. It was also sunset time, which...sheeeeeeeeeeit, that's My time, right there.

Funny thing about shooting on the street: people just can't help but adjust their trajectories towards you. Folks slowed down or just stopped all together while driving, people gawked the fuck out of our shoot. A bunch of kids in a car parked 'bout two car lengths away from us so they could observe while smoking pot.

One guy in a van stopped and took a picture. Another guy crossed the street so he could walk his dog through us.

And I loved it. Munched on freshly-baked cookies, drank down Strawberry-Banana Quik, I SHOT WHILE SUGAR-TRIPPING OUT OF MY HEAD. Humming The Bronx songs, shifting my weight from my left foot to my right with my eye in the viewfinder, trying to get that sunset light just so.

FUN SHOOT!!! EVERYONE DO IT!!!
